Today was a big shopping day. They rented a minibus and drove to the mall. "We thought about focusing on the wintergarden and the outside area today." Matt said as they got off the bus. Finley grinned at his brother and Kelly rolled with his eyes. "If you don't bother us with it all day, we can talk about it again at the end of the shopping tour, but only if you behave." Kelly said. "Okay, that's a deal." Finley smiled. "Well, now that this is sorted out, what were you thinking of?" Jay asked. "We thought we could look around a little and spontaneously decide what we like." Adam said. "Okay, let's go then." Jay said. "Yes, but we leave the design of the wintergarden and the outside area up to you boys, we girls will do the first baby shopping." Stella smiled and kissed Kelly. "I thought you don't know what it's going to be yet?" Finley asked. "Yes, but I have a feeling there and you can buy baby furniture and a stroller in advance." Stella smiled. "Okay and when do you have your next appointment exactly?" Finley asked. "In four weeks, why?" Stella asked. "Can I come with you?" Finley asked. "I thought you didn't want to know the gender of the baby?" Kelly asked. "Yeah, but I can wait outside when the doctor says the gender." Finley said. Stella and Kelly looked at each other and nodded. A few minutes later they arrived at the garden furniture department. ""May I make a suggestion?" Finley asked. "Sure." Matt said. "Can we buy a bench swing or whatever it is called." Finley asked. "A bench swings?" Connor asked. "Yes, Darius has one in his garden too." Finley said. "You mean a porch swing." Will said. "Yes, that's what I said." Finley grinned and the boys laughed. When they were done, they bought a porch swing, a garden lounge, a seating area, a new grill, a fireplace and a tree swing for Finley. Everything will be delivered on the day when they will move into the new house. The ladies were also successful and got everything they wanted and the baby furniture department employee were loading everything in the minibus when the boys came out.

4 weeks later, Finley was picked up from school by Kelly and Stella. "How was your day at school?" Stella asked. "It was okay, we had a surprise math test today." Finley said. "Oh, oh and what does that mean?" Kelly asked. "I don't know, but I think it went pretty well." Finley said. "We'll see it when you get it back." Kelly said. When they arrived at the gynecologist, Stella and Finley sat down in the waiting area, while Kelly signed them up. "Mrs. Kidd and Mr. Severide." the doctor called. When they entered the treatment room, Stella lay down on the bed and Kelly and Finley sat on the chair. "How are you today?" the doctor asked. "Quite good." Stella said. "And as I can see, the big brother came with you today too." the doctor smiled. "Almost, he's the uncle." Kelly smiled. "Yeah, I'm his little brother." Finley said. "Oh, I'm sorry." the doctor smiled. "Don't worry, you're not the first and you won't be the last." Finley laughed. "I'm glad to hear that, so, you ready to find out the gender?" the doctor asked. Finley hesitated. "Would it be possible for you to write down the gender for us?" Stella asked. "I really wanted to be surprised." Finley added. "Oh, well then, of course, I'll write it down, but you'd like to hear the heartbeat?" the doctor asked. Finley nodded. When the doctor started the ultrasound, he was surprised by what he saw. "Oh." he said. "What is it, is something wrong with the baby?" Stella asked worriedly. "No, don't worry, everything is fine with the baby." the doctor said. "Wait, I'll cover my ears and close my eyes, so you can tell them." Finley said. A few seconds later, Kelly tapped his brother's shoulder. "Are you okay?" Finley asked. "Yes, everything is fine." Stella smiled and took the doctor's note. "And what did the doctor say, everything all right?" Adam asked. "Yes, everything is fine and the baby is where it should be when you're 4 months pregnant." Stella smiled. "And?" Natalie asked. Finley rolled his eyes, turned around, covered his ears and closed his eyes. Stella gave the note from the doctor to Natalie. "Are you serious?" Kim asked, excitedly. Stella nodded. "Are you done?" Finley asked. "Yeah, you can open your eyes again." Kelly laughed. "And how was it when you heard the heartbeat for the first time?" Kim asked. "When I heard the heartbeat, I wished the baby would be come right now." Finley said. "Can you wait for another 5 months?" Stella asked and sat at the couch. "Do I have any other choice?" Finley asked. "Not really." Kelly smiled. "But to get one thing straight, I'm not your babysitter, or at least not always, I still want to meet my friends." Finley said. "Don't worry about that, we already got a lot of babysitters." Stella smiled. "Perfect, but now, can you help me with my homework?" Finley asked. "Yes, sure." Kelly said and sat down at the kitchen table with Finley. "Well, this is a good practice for later." Jay laughed. "Hey, you know what I just realized." Finley said while putting out his school books. "No, what?" Sylvie asked. "When your boy or girl has their first day of school, I'll have my first day in High school or my second year at High school, I'm not sure, but anyway, I will be in High school." Finley said. "Can you please stop growing up so fast." Kelly said. "Why, you still have the baby." Finley grinned. "Yeah, but I still don't want my little brother to grow up." Kelly smiled and kissed his head.
