Chapter 18

After dinner, Finley wanted to go to his room, but Kelly held him back. "Tyler will be sleeping in your room for a few days." Kelly said. "What?" Finley asked, horrified. "Brittany and Tyler will stay with us for a few days, just until they find an apartment for their own." Kelly smiled. "When did you want to tell me that?" Finley asked, annoyed. "I have now." Kelly said. "Great, and where should I sleep then?" Finley asked. "You still have four guest rooms to choose from." Stella smiled. "And why can't he sleep in the guest room, he's the guest." Finley said, now very annoyed. "Okay, Stop it, it's only for a few days!" Kelly yelled at him. "Yes, you say that now, then it's a few months, then years, and in the end it's permanently." Finley yelled at him, ran into the guest room and slammed the door behind him. "Sorry, he's not usually like that, I'll talk to him again." Kelly said. "Maybe I should try to talk to him." Brittany suggested. "I don't know if that's such a good idea." Kelly said. "Well, that's at least all I can do after I've got you all into trouble." Brittany smiled and knocked at Finley's door. Finley was just setting up his bed when Brittany walked in. "What do you want?" Finley asked, still annoyed. Brittany sat on the bed and targets Finley. "I want you to stay away from Kelly from now on, or I'll make sure you will. He should focus on his career and you're not good for him." Brittany said, looking into Finley's eyes. Finley was shocked about what she just said and sat on the bed too. "Oh, and your son is better or what, but there is one thing you should know about Kelly, he'd never let anything happen to me." Finley said, glaring at her. "We'll see." Brittany said and left the room. When Finley woke up the next morning and walked into the kitchen, everyone was already up and having breakfast. "Good morning." Finley said. "Good morning, you calmed down a bit?" Kelly asked, smiling. Finley nodded and looked at Brittany. "Can Adam drive me to school today?" Finley asked carefully. "If that's what you want, sure." Kelly said and Adam nodded in agreement. On the drive to school, Adam noticed that something was bothering Finley. "Is everything okay, you're so quiet." Adam asked. "Yeah, well, just a bit of a headache." Finley said. And why didn't you say anything?" Adam asked. "Can you please just drive me to school." Finley said, turning away from him. When he got to school, Finley jumped out of the car, without saying anything and went to his friends.

At the Firehouse, the Squad team has just returned from a call. "Adam, what are you doing here?" Kelly asked. "Do you have a minute?" Adam asked. "Sure, what's up?" Kelly asked. "I'm worried about Finley." Adam said. "Come on, let's go to my office." Kelly said. "So, what about Fin?" Kelly asked, worried. "I can't really tell you, but something is bothering him. He was very quiet on the ride to school, but said he only had a bit of a headache." Adam said. Kelly glanced at his watch and saw that the Chief was passing by. "Chief, would you mind if I pick Finley up from school?" Kelly asked. "No, of course not, is everything okay?" Boden asked. "I can't tell, yet." Kelly said. "Let me know when you leave, I'll replace you until you're back." Boden said. Kelly nodded and went to the exit with Adam. When Kelly arrived at Finley's school, classes had just ended and the students came out of the school buildings. Finley came out of the school building with his friends. "Fin, your brother is here, won't you tell him what happened?" Summer asked. "I suppose Adam already told him or he wouldn't be here now." Finley said. "Tell him, otherwise it will only get worse." Sarah said. Finley nodded. "We'll see you tomorrow." Adan said. "Yeah, see you tomorrow." Finley smiled.
