Together... and Apart

Part 30

(May 3rd, 1998.. I'm so sorry for the huge jump!)

David's POV:

Having a role as one of the main characters on America's #1 hit sitcom is fun, I guess. You get paid a lot, you meet new people every day.. but then there's the hard part. The drama. The tabloids. The constant feeling that someone is watching your every move. The one thing that I hate most about Hollywood and being famous, is rumours. All the time. And this doesn't only affect your career, but also changes the way people see you. Because the public believes all the shit that's written on magazines. It's incredibly stupid, and it violates your personal life. You can't just live life in peace, but I chose this type of career.. so it's technically my fault. I should've been prepared to find out that people are spreading lies all the time. So, it's too late now. The plus side of it is that I have amazing friends and I work on a great show.. and I make a lot of money. 

Natalie and I have been dating for more than two years now, but I don't really see her in my future. I mean, when we were first dating, there were a couple times when I imagined her as my wife.. but now it's just a blur. That's what worries me the most- not having children, or a wife. I truly want that, not with just any one being my wife though. Someone that I have a huge history with, someone who I love so much.. someone who I know by heart. I'm turning 32 this year- there's no time to waste.

Courteney planned a whole 'getaway' as she would say it, for the four year anniversary of our show. I can't even believe we've gotten this far, and so quickly. Our show has become a huge hit, and because of the popularity we're getting, other movie productions are asking us to audition for their films. So, it's a great deal. Jennifer for example, she's probably the most famous out of all of us. She dated Brad Pitt, who's a well-known actor all over the world, and they broke up. Jennifer's been on the spotlight for quite a while now, but as friends, we don't mind. We all know that she's been through some very tough times, so I think she deserves the fame. And, it's pretty obvious now, she's a very talented actress. 

May 4th is tomorrow, and apparently we're going on a whole road trip with the cast. Including Marta, David (Crane) and Kevin of course. We're supposed to leave tomorrow, and to be honest, I have no idea where we're planning to go. I just know that we're all going, and I'm supposed to be at the studio tomorrow 12 at noon. I already started packing a while ago, but I had some trouble since we don't have a destination we'll be heading towards. I figured we might go up north, so I decided to pack some sweatshirts just in case. I don't know why we're driving when we could just fly, but it's Courteney's idea and I definitely do not want to interfere. 

I look at my watch, it's already 12:15pm. Of course Natalie's here with me, she practically lives here. It's nice, but sometimes I like to have privacy. Like when Jennifer and I were together, we would alternate- sometimes I slept over at her house, and then sometimes we would sleep at mine, and some days we would just leave each there alone. Jennifer understood that I like to be alone sometimes, and she was fully okay with it. But I remember talking to Natalie about it, and boy oh boy.. she did not take it well. So, I'm pretty much stuck in this trap. 

"Hi babe," I hear a whisper in my ear, startling me. 

"Oh, hey." I respond as I turn around and find Natalie behind me. 

"Are you almost done packing..?"

"Mhm, almost.. why?" 

"I want to spend time with you before you leave.. I won't get to see you for like, 5 days!" she says as she approaches me. She places an arm around my neck and pulls me in for a passionate kiss. 

"Natalie, not right now.." I say while pulling away from her lips. I know what she's trying to do. She usually tries to seduce me, and most of the time it works. But it can't happen now, it's late and I have to finish packing.
