Hi so part of this chapter is paying homage to the queens gambit which I read recently, it's one of my favourite books and in my mind Rose has always been smart and classy so I wanted to add this in, let me know what you think.....

She led me out of the damp apartment building onto the dimly lit streets of New York, the traffic had become much less noticeable but the sounding of cars horns still ricocheted occasionally through the Crystal black night atmosphere.

She walked over to her car gesturing for me to get in the passenger seat, it was a shiny red Maserati that greatly contrasted the dull streets it stood on.

Something didn't add up, how did she have a giant office, fancy clothes and expensive cars if people didn't like her designs. I pushed the thought to the back of my head, it seemed silly now that she was stood right in front of me.

"You look really pretty" she said smiling at me as I climbed into her car, my face burned a shade of bright red, i fumbled with my words "thanks, i look nothing compared to you" as soon as the words left my mouth she smirked at me curiously. Did she know how I felt?

The drive wasn't as awkward as I had anticipated "so where did you live before you came to New York?" She asked smiling but still focusing on the road ahead of us.

"Tennessee" I said fiddling with my hands making my knuckles blush , she seemed interested "wow, must have been quiet compared to this place" her eyes were darting from the road to me, reacting to the sound of people shouting and car horns still blaring .

"Yeah I guess" I started "I mean, in some ways, of course it's less crowded but I was just bored of the same people and places" I was beginning to feel less anxious.

"That's how I felt before I left Ireland, I'm glad I got out" she said resonating with my words, that was where her accent was from, i knew I recognised it.

We pulled up outside a tall building that stood out from the rest of the others, the front brandished big open windows that displayed bright green bushes and the restaurants name glistened in glowing letters above the crystal glass doors.

We both climbed out of her car and up the steps, i could of sworn I saw someone dressed in all black taking photos from near the end of the street but shrugged it off even thought it creeped me out I thought it was probably nothing.

"Name?" Asked a talk man in a black tuxedo, "Rose, Rose Weil" she answered him, I watched her perfect lips sound out the words becoming fixated on her as we were led to our table.

Before we started our conversation again a talk woman in a black suit took our drink orders, we both ordered the same wine.

When we were left alone the conversations began again, we talked about everything from our families to what we were like as kids and what projects she had planned. I finally felt my walls that I had put up come crashing down and I felt comfortable talking to her, this didn't usually happen.

"I'm quite glad I hired you" she lifted the wine up to her mouth to drink it "I'm sure working with you will be interesting"

The food we ordered came and we ate it while laughing at each other's jokes and talking about each other's interests,

"I didn't want to say anything this morning but you actually didn't sound too bad screaming to Taylor Swift, your walls are very thin" she laughed teasing me, my eyes were open wide and my face was red once again "oh my God, you heard that?" I asked her in a disbelieving tone.
