hi, so its been like four months. struggled a bit with stress but I've finally finished school, which is weird. I'm going to college next year still anyway but the fact that I will never have to set foot in my high-school ever again makes me so happy! hopefully you guys will get some more updates as I have a while off. This chapter might be a bit short but I am currently working on my other fic (my Julia one which you should also go read!) at the moment which requires more planning. also thanks for 16k reads on my other fic, I met her by the rosebush, its honestly very badly written and so I kind of cringe at the fact that people are still reading it but I won't complain! STREAM THE BLONDE ANSD PINK ALBUM BY TRIXIE MATTEL (ITS REALLY GOOD)
The street was a bitter cold, the air was damp from the residue of this mornings rain and the atmosphere smelt lightly of cigarette smoke. Lights shone out through the dusky night in the city and I felt my breath shake as I drew them in and out. Barely managing to contain all go my emotions, I stepped hastily into a bar, its bright lights beckoned me into its deadly trap.
The place hummed like a dying lightbulb and it was packed with activity, people laughed and shouted joyfully as I rushed through them with my solemn head down. This was the only gay bar I knew in New York, despite the fact there were many more: I just didn't really go to any bars, especially since I was with Rose. We usually drank in hotel lobbies or on planes in 1st class.
I slumped into a free chair besides the bar with my bag on my knees, I looked for my phone to check the time but realised that I had left it on the floor in my apartment, smashed. The man behind the bar turned around to ask me what I would like to drink, I told him "a shot of whatever's your best"
He nodded and turned back around, he got this type of sad shit all the time.
As soon as he placed it on the table I downed it. "Keep them coming"
Roses POV_
Rose lay on her tangled bedsheets, her hair was a mess (as always but this time surprisingly worse) her phone was clutched in her trembling hands, she had been crying for so long and so hard that her vision was blinded by some aggressive migraine. She felt like an utter fool, what was she doing?, What had she done? Rose had been working so hard all day, she was tired and already quite in a mood and she couldn't believe that she had let what Sage said make her react in such a volatile way.
All sage had done was say that she was her "assistant" but Rose didn't see Sage like that, Sage was now so much more and all she wanted was to know that Sage felt the same way.
Rose acted out of order and she knew it, ashamed as she was. She lifted her phone to her face, unlocked it with her fingerprint, pressed Sage's contact and began to call her.
She glanced slightly at the clock in the wall as she heard the phone ring down her ear and noted in her mind that it was 8.05.
There was no answer. The call went almost went to answer phone straight away which meant Sage had probably turned her phone off. Rose couldn't blame her and she sighed sadly.
She then began to cry again, tears dampening her face and soon the tears of sadness turned to some pityful rage. 'Why am I so stupid?' She cried out 'always ruining fucking everything!" Her Irish accent rung throughout the cold empty apartment and in one final fit of frustration with herself, Rose threw the phone and it hit the wall, smashing on impact and even more as it fell.
As Rose curled herself into some sad ball the bell rang. Could it be? Rose poked her head up from her misery like some meerkat and sprung to her feet. Her hand soon rushed to her head with the pain and she placed her glasses messily on her face.
