i sighed, sitting up in my bed tiredly. having to take care of a newborn and a teenager wasn't the easiest thing.

i threw the covers off my body, getting up to care for sila for the sixth time tonight. never mind, it was now morning.

to my surprise her crying stopped before i reached the room. when i entered, i smiled at the sight of melanie, gently rocking sila.

"good morning" i greeted, causing her eyes to glance up, now smiling towards me.

she looked surprisingly glowy based on the recent events. it had been a week since we almost lost her.

she was recovering fast, which wasn't a surprise. i knew that i had chosen a fighter.

"good morning, sleepy head" i joked, swaying back and forth to try and calm my baby.

glenn scoffed, throwing himself into a rocking chair in the corner, "how many times did you get up last night? i'm on number six."

i let out a small sigh, taking a seat beside glenn in a different chair, "only my fourth round thankfully"

he nodded, "have you seen enid? she should be up by now."

"she's down helping maggie and the others prepare for the fight." i informed, biting my lip in uncertainty. i didn't want my kid fighting if i wouldn't be there...

i wouldn't be there not because i wasn't allowed to fight, but because me and glenn were leaving. sila too.

it wasn't safe for me to be here anymore no matter how much i wanted to stay. with sila born now too. negan had too much he could take.

glenn and i talked for a long while because we also had enid to think about. though, when we asked her to come with. she pleaded to stay and help maggie and the others fight.

we set up a communication technique to make sure we could be updated on what was going on here while we were gone.

we set up a time schedule of the week and where'd we be traveling to. the schedule ensured that whoever our messenger was, could be at the place to drop letters from everyone who wanted to talk to us without actually meeting us. just in case the saviors were to track them and find us.

not only would we be keeping ourselves safe from the saviors, we'd be looking for new settlements, scavenging places, and also people.

only a couple people knew we were leaving. rick, michonne, maggie, enid, rosita, kennedy, daryl, and tara.

this wasn't the end for us. we'd be back in a matter of time when things were safe...

glenn nodded from my comment about enid, "today we're supposed to leave— when the saviors are distracted... i just can't believe we're leaving everything we built. i mean, i feel selfish not fighting"

i let out a sigh, nodding my head, "i do too— but we've been with them from the start. we've fought in every fight with them and as much as i want to stay by their sides. we know what needs to be done for us and to save our family."

just as i finished, sila shifted uncomfortably in my hold, letting out whimpers as she did so.

"i think she knows what's happening" glenn mumbled, his face expressing sadness.

i nodded, glancing to the letters in the corner of the room. they were our goodbye letters and schedule to the people we were closest to.

"those letters need to be sent out before we leave in an hour so i better get on that." i uttered, standing up from the chair to place sila in her crib.

glenn nodded, also standing up, "i'll help— tara said she'd watch sila while we prepare to leave."

"okay, i'll meet you back here in an hour."

"sounds good, i love you" he smiled, pulling me into a quick hug.

i buried my head in his chest, "i love you too"

so i changed chapter six to them leaving because i think s8 has me in a writing rut so i'm gonna do a time skip.

i realized how much i missed writing haven and i can't wait to begin it again. i don't exactly know how big the time skip will be but be prepared for anything;)

i have been working on a new fanfic if any of you guys are into the show, the 100. i have a small prologue and the playlist published so far and i've already pre-wrote s1.
