After Hours

Y/n POV

I lift my head up off my textbook and check the time on my phone. 11:23 pm. Shit it's after hours. The library is mostly dark except for a few lights. I sigh, run a hand through my hair and look over to see Daniel asleep on his textbook as well. We were studying for our big Pre-med biology final. College has been a whirlwind for the both of us. I smile at him before gently kissing his head.

"Dani, Dani, baby you gotta wake up. It's past hours." I whisper softly in his ear.

Daniel shifts around before lifting his head off the textbook.

"What?" He's says with a groggy voice.

"It's after library hours. We fell asleep studying and are now stuck here."

He nods his head and rubs his eyes. He closes his textbook and shoves it in his bag. He then gets up and starts looking at all the other books on the shelves.

"What are you doing?" I ask with a smile.

"Looking at all the books. They have some really cool ones. Last week I was here with some friends and we found these old play scripts. It was amazing. Look here's the script from Cinderella." He's says and pulls it from the shelf.

He brings back to our table and opens it. He smiles as he starts to read the opening lines. The rest of the night consists of the two of us finding and reenacting multiple different scenes from multiple different shows. Daniel always knows how to make me laugh. Around 4:30am the security guard is making his rounds and finds us in the corner laughing.

"Hey! What are you two doing in here?" He yells.

"Run!" Daniel says and grabs my hand.

We run back to our table, snatch our book bags, and bolt for the door. The guard starts to chase after us, but we quickly lose him. We burst through the front doors laughing loudly. Out of breath I hug Daniel tightly. He kisses the side of my head.

"I love you y/n."

"I love you too Daniel."

He gently wraps his hand in mine and we start to walk to our dorm. The sun is starting to rise when we reach the front doors. As we enter some of our friends are in the commons area, so we join them. We tell them of our nights adventures before saying goodbye to go get some sleep. I decide to sleep in Daniels room because his roommate went home for the weekend. Daniel and I climb into his bed and he pulls me close.

"Goodnight y/n/n."

"Goodnight Dani."
