Home for the Summer

A/n-one of my summer jobs for the past 2 years it water the hanging baskets of flowers they put up downtown. So when I use the term "I'm out watering" in this story, just know that's what it means! I'm also going to be using the names of my friends and sister to make things easier for me. Feel free to change them when you read.

Y/n POV

It's finally summer and I decided to go home. The boys are taking a few months off and decided to join me. My family absolutely loves them and were excited to hear they would be staying with us. I woke up early Sunday morning to the light shining through the translucent curtains in mine and Daniels room. I turn over to see my sweet boyfriend still fast asleep. I smile at him and then gently shake him awake.

"Daniel, come on we gotta get up. We gotta get on the plane in a few hours."

He groans and mumbles, "five more minutes."

"No Dani. Now, Jonah already has the other three boys up." I say toss the sheets off me before climbing out of bed.

Daniel is quick to follow changing into some sweats and then bringing our suitcases we packed the night before, down to the living room. I also throw on a pair of sweat pants and one of Daniels hoodies before heading downstairs to see the five boys all sitting at the kitchen island eating a variety of breakfast foods. They all smile at me when I enter the room. I pour myself a glass of juice and eat a bagel.

"I can't wait to see your family again y/n. I've missed them." Jack says as he puts his dishes in the sink.

"Me too! Especially your dad, he makes the best jokes." Corbyn says with a laugh.

"They've missed you guys too. Unfortunately my dad won't be home this time. He's in Texas right now working." I say.

They all let out a sad sigh. I giggle, loving the close bond they all have with my family. It's the same one I have with all of theirs.

"My youngest sister Nessa, goes on and on about how much she misses you Zach. She can't wait to see you again. She's hoping you'll play horses with her again." I say and smile at the boy.

"Aww I've missed her too. She's definitely my favorite." He says as he finishes his cereal.

"Ouch that hurt." I say sarcasm thick in my voice.

"You know I love y/n!" Zach says laughing.

"Yeah I know."

"Well we better get going, we don't want to be late." Jonah says.

Daniel gets up and puts his dishes in the sink and takes my hand as we walk to my car. Giving that there are so many of us we had to take two cars. Daniel, Zach, and I are in one and the other three are in Jonahs car.

*Skip to landing*

We just landed in Minneapolis, Minnesota and go to baggage claim. Jonah goes to get a rental and then we all pile in. Daniel decides to drive so I sit up front with him. He grips my thigh as we drive.

"Are you okay babe?" I ask. "You're death gripping my thigh." I laugh lightly.

He eases up in his grip before giving me a slight smile. "Sorry y/n/n, I'm just nervous about seeing your family."

"Why? You know they love you."

"I know but I want that to continue. I don't want them to think I'm doing something wrong."

"Hey if they ever try to harp on you, I'll take care of it, okay?"

He nods and gives me his award winning smile. The rest of the car ride is quiet.
