It was a windy night, just like all the other nights lately, and Chaos was walking around the square Inkopolis Square was well known for with the rest of her teammates. There were more Inklings and Octolings around than usual, which was okay, because then the alleyways would be less occupied, allowing everybody to sneak back home easily, and the hero team were about to slip away, when they heard a shout.

"THEY'RE HERE!" Chaos turned around from where she was about to do a wall jump, and saw a yellow-green Inkling wearing a Black Inky Rider staring at the sky with everybody else looking at him, and then in the direction he was looking at. Soon, everybody at the square was looking at the sky... and at the returning Skylings. In squid form, the winged squids were soaring above Inkopolis, before dropping in altitude and all landing in the square, making the space a bit more cramped. They turned into their humanoid forms, and there was what seemed like a staring contest as the citizens of Inkopolis stared in fear as the Skylings all glared back. A pink-inked Inkling wearing an Aloha Shirt shoved his way to the front of the crowd and made an attempt to befriend the Skyling girl at the front, but the moment after he was darted with a gun, chaos broke out. And no- not Chaos herself, she was named after the primordial god, but she was dragged away not soon after the pink Inkling got darted.

As the Skylings prepared to attack the others, Chaos grabbed her Freshhook Shots and was about to leap at the opposing force and intimidate them, but Skip ran back and grabbed the back of her jacket at the last second before he dragged her behind a dumpster, where the other team members were in hiding.
"We should head towards Mount Nantai if we can." Archer whispered, as screams came from the square. "Get a view, and try and see if we could find Japan Hero Central."
"Why Hero Central?" Hurricane asked, looking at the tablet she carried around everywhere. "That place is really far away, Archer. Chances are, if we even make it out of this mess, we still have to-"

Smoke filled the air before the cuttleling could even finish her sentence.
"This is our only chance! We gotta go!" The hero team all started running as fast as they could out of the square, before leaping up the walls of a building once they had gotten out and landing on its roof. The eight friends then heard a loud cracking noise, and saw a tornado spinning around the square, breaking apart Deca Tower and smashing the Galleria. As soon as the tornado cleared, Chaos saw the aftereffects of it. Inkopolis Square... it was all gone.

"What about the other citizens of Inkopolis?" Skip asked, brushing aside his orange hair to get a better look. " Shouldn't we help them?"
"With Inkopolis Square being the most popular place in our city, I think it'd be safe to say that all the other parts of it would be ghost towns. Not nearly enough people." Hurricane responded. "The Square would have stood out the most, so that's most likely why the Skylings targeted it. We could use this emptiness to our advantage. Go to Inkopolis Plaza, and then take the train out. Then we head to Japan Hero Central. Maybe research the Skylings a bit more if they have the information, and then go and save our home."
"I think that's a great plan." Archer said. "Everybody in?" Chaos nodded at the squad's leader, with the others all doing the same thing.
"We'll save Inkopolis if we can. It's all we can do now after escaping." Jason added. The hero team took one last look at the ruins of their home, and prepared to jump to the next rooftop, full of determination.

However, what the squad didn't notice, was that the entire time, a single Skyling had managed to sneak away from the others and eavesdrop on them, eventually deciding to follow. For them, this would be interesting.
