"That should really be the last of them." Chaos said as she stacked the toilet paper packages on the shelf.
"Yep." her coworker answered. "We're done for today, Chaos. Our shift's probably gonna end any second now." As he spoke, the minute hand on the clock nearby reached the 60 mark and the two were quickly dismissed.

As soon as she got home to her apartment, Chaos changed out of her workers' uniform into another outfit. Her outfit whenever she was going to do some crimefighting.  There hadn't been any reports of any crime around Inkopolis in the past few days, but Chaos had to keep alert. She couldn't ever let her guard down, being a hero of bravery. Walking past the Crust Bucket, she'd caught hints of a conversation that one day, the Skylings, winged squids, would once again return and invade Inkopolis. So she had to keep her skills sharp. Maybe there was crime in another city? Her teammates would most likely text her about any updates on any situation. Sure enough, her phone lit up with a message on the screen from one of her squad members after a while.

Unknown number: Chaos, we've got more of what you've been talking about lately. It's almost certain that the Skylings you've heard rumours of will return tomorrow. The weather even seems to say so itself. We need to have a team meet at the base to discuss strategies against the Skylings, given how dangerous they are.

So Scout the Sting Rayling had managed to gather more information. He was the stealthy one of the squad due to being a stingray, but that characteristic never matched up with his trait of optimism. He was still the most optimistic one of the group though, always encouraging them to be as strong as they could be and telling them that they would always win the fight in the end.

Well, no time to waste. Chaos made sure her door was locked, then climbed out the window of her apartment, closing the window behind her. Her keys were in her bag? Check. Phone, notebook? Yep. Weapon? Always on her. Due to the fact that there were a lot of rooftop fights happening around Inkopolis whenever she was crimefighting to avoid collateral damage and to make sure innocent citizens stayed safe, Chaos knew how to get around the roofs of urban environments. Climbing onto the roof of her apartment building, Chaos took out her weapon of choice when dealing with criminals, a pair of crossbow-like guns she named Freshhook Shots, one with a scope on the end the other without, aimed the one without a scope at the nearest building, and fired. A hook flew out of the Shot and a moment later, an Inkling was practically flying through the night sky, swinging from building to building.

After a while, Chaos arrived at the base for the squad. It was a small hut in the woods near Mount Nantai that they'd built and made it almost impossible to find themselves. Only the squad knew how to locate it, and it was a secret. Chaos found that she was the second last to arrive, as five members of the squad were already standing around the table in the centre. Scout the Eagle Stingray, trait of optimism, Blake the Vampire Squid, trait of perseverance, Skip the Moray Eel, trait of empathy, Hurricane the Striped Pyjama Squid, trait of wisdom, and Jason the Great White Shark, trait of justice. Now they just needed the last member. There was a noise as someone landed outside of the cabin. Sure enough, Archer the Luminous Flying Squid and their representative of the trait of confidence was there. All seven were ready for their first team meet in a while.
"Sorry for being late." Chaos watched as Archer sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "The wind blew me in the opposite direction, and I couldn't glide at all, just run as quickly as I could, but then it finally started going in the right direction as soon as I was at the roodtops!" He then quickly retracted the gliders under his arms after that and so the squad all sat down.

(A/N: Archer is not a SplatRoad luminous. He is simply a Striped Flying Squid, also known as the Luminous Flying Squid, a bioluminescent squid species. He is also not a Skyling, and is instead a flying squid with gliders, meaning he can simply glide using membranes underneath his arms, but cannot fly.)
