From that moment their lives changed three sixty degree. Moment of fears grasping the minds, unexpected phone calls freezing their souls. One such night Avni was getting continuous calls from Neil She was on the end of her nerves and was a step ahead to block his number when a message pinged on her phone screen, "I don't want to hear your number busy. It's a warning, not a request. "

Avni was returning home thinking about it when she heard footsteps behind her. She noticed few people coming behind her and they didn't look good. She quickened her steps. What if they were Neil's spy? It was all empty on the road with no person. No one would come to help her if she shouted for help. And what an unfortunate day her phone was dead.

But at a point they caught her up and surrounded her. She was scared now. She pushed one of them and tried running but he pushed her on the ground with a slap.

"Why are you after me? What have I done? I don't even know you people.... "
She said crying in fear, pinch of blood coming out from the corner of her lips.

"You don't know... But your lover knows. Neil killed our boss's son and he has ordered us to kill you to make Neil emotionally suffer. Your death will be our festival. "

Saying he raised up the dagger and aimed at her.

She closed her eyes in fear waiting for the knife to come down and slash her into pieces. But then a painful scream and a thud sound. She quickly opened her eyes to find that intruder lying on the ground with a twisted neck.

A loud scream escaped her lungs and she backed off almost falling on the ground when someone caught her. Her eyes met with those charcoal black soul savaging eyes and she shuddered.

"Don't worry.... I killed the bastard. You are safe now, my love. "

He said in his deep dead husky tone which once used to give her solace. She pushed him away in utter disgust, "Safe? And that too when your after me? I had a normal life till I met you.... It was only for you I was targeted... "

Neil's POV

I stepped out of the restaurant, having just finished up a important meeting with my associates. As I stood by the road waiting for my car to arrive, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. My line of work often required me to be on high alert, even in seemingly innocuous moments like this.

Suddenly, a young girl appeared next to me, timidly reaching out and taking my hand. I was completely taken aback, staring down at her nervous face as she gazed up at me and flashed a small, uncertain smile. Without a word, she started to lead me across the road.

I followed along, utterly perplexed by this strange encounter. As we walked, I couldn't help but notice how delicate and fragile her hand felt in mine. There was an innocence about her that was in stark contrast to the hardened world I operated in. Despite my best efforts, I found myself getting lost in the softness of her skin and the way her fingers intertwined with my calloused ones.

When we reached the other side of the street, she quickly withdrew her hand and muttered a quiet "thank you" before scurrying off, disappearing into the crowd. I stood there dumbfounded, my hand tingling from the brief skin-to-skin contact. A shiver ran down my spine, and I found myself wondering who that girl was and why she had chosen me, of all people, to assist her across the road.

That same evening I had rammed into the warehouse, fuming with anger. Who dared to mess with my business? I threw everything in sight, shouting in frustration.

"Boss, we found her," Zulfiqar, my right-hand man, informed me. He pointed to the TV screen, where a young girl was being shown.

I looked closer and recognized her – she was the same girl from this morning, the one who had held my hand to cross the busy street. Her nervous eyes, her chubby face, the way she nervously played with her hair – it was all so familiar.
