IT ALL STARTED WITH A DETENTION

CHAPTER SIX:After Proposal

When we entered the party, it was already on full swing .

There were people all over,enjoying themselves as the music was blaring for all the surrounding neighbourhood to hear.

We had to push our way through the sweaty people towards the main hall.

As we entered the main hall, we were stunned to see the number of people in the party , all the people from our school were present making the party an instant hit.

While I was searching for a familiar face among the crowd I saw a girl walking towards us with a huge grin.She was wearing a cute lavender dress, her hair was left free,few tendrils of hair were framing her heart shaped face.

When she saw Ryan, her eyes lit up and she hugged him and they both exchanged a warm one of the kind smile, which left me and Emily speechless.

With a smile still intact on his face he said "Guys meet Jessica, we are seeing each other from quite a long time" he and Jessica exchanged a knowing look.

My mind suddenly stopped functioning , I felt betrayed for a moment.

"Omg Ryan!!! I can't believe it ; you both look so cute together" Emily was saying with excited voice .

When Ryan looked at me, his smile dropped; without giving him time to react, I stormed out in the opposite direction of Ryan. I wanted to move as far as possible from everyone.

I heard Ryan saying something to Emily and coming towards me, so I moved faster.. I climbed the stairs and kept moving.

I didn't know why this was hurting me so much, I should have been happy for Ryan for finding someone who would love and care for him but I couldn't, I felt betrayed, I never expected Ryan to keep something this important from me.

Yes I know I'm being silly, I should never be possessive of Ryan; even though I don't have any romantic feelings towards him, I'm not able to digest the fact that his life will never revolve around me anymore.

All of a sudden I feel all alone, loneliness fills my body and I sit down on a bench nearby.

As I try to calm down myself , I hear someone approaching .

"I don't want to talk right now Ryan please" I said without even glancing at my back.

"As far as I know my name isn't Ryan and also I think I'm at the wrong place..."comes an unfamiliar voice.

I turn to look who it was.As it was dark I couldn't make make out clearly who this person was.

He was 6 foot tall and had a well built body .

"Seeing you,I think you are in need of  some liquid to cool down ?" He asks leading a glass with fruit punch towards me.

Not even having the energy to start a conversation I replied
"I'm fine. Thank you "

" Look, don't get me wrong but you could talk to me about what's going on , I may not even understand the story but it might make you feel light" he says hesitantly.

I think about it , what could go wrong ? For that instance I go with the flow, I ask this total stranger.

" Is it wrong to feel betrayed when all you want to feel is happy for person you love the most?"

And suddenly all my emotions comes out from me through words.

"See, I and this guy I don't want to mention his name are friends from childhood ,we are inseparable .When I got to know that he has a 'girlfriend', I felt betrayed. I don't have any romantic feelings towards him but still i am helping with all the negative feelings going through me.He used to confide me even the silliest matters of his life from the day one and I am hurt that he hid this one major thing from me for such a long time.So I am not worthy anymore in his life right?". After I stopped my ranting, there is a silence and his voice breaks in .

" Hmm , I think what you are feeling is perfectly normal , I am no psychologist but still i can say that it's not betrayal you felt but left out , it can happen to anyone you don't have to feel guilty about it , just talk with this guy and sort everything "

Lost in thoughts ,I replied

"Yeah, I can't lose our friendship for such a silly reason" by confessing all my worries I feel as if a burden has been lifted off my shoulders

"Thanks for hearing me out " I said

"No problem, glad that I could be of some help" he said.

As I was about to say something , music which was blaring suddenly stopped .
Sensing something was up , I immediately rushed down .

By the time I reached down , there was a huge crowd near the stage and Emily was standing there with clueless expression. then Brandon approached her with bright coloured flowers he then bend on his one knee, I was frozen in my spot witnessing him saying.

"I confess to you that I have liked and admired from the day I saw. You are one of a kind . That's the reason that made me fall for you. You are dream come true which makes each and every single day of my humble existence amazing and blissful. You have come to my life unannounced and I was completely struck when I realised that you are the person I have been waiting for my whole life.

I have known you for six long years. Your happiness is what means to me a lot. When our eyes met for the first time, my heart skipped a beat. I cannot even think of living without you. Meeting you was fate, but falling in love with you was beyond my control.

WILL YOU BE MINE FOREVER?" His eyes where holding the hope of acceptance.

Emily glanced at all the anticipated faces and slowly looked at Brandon who was on his knee with hatred evident in her burning eyes , then she walked off the stage without a word or a glance. Ryan ran after Emily while Asher helped a very stunned Brandon to his feet.

After a while there were murmurs and whispers among the people.

When I was about to go after Emily, I heard a loud crash from upstairs , by the reaction of the people I realized, it was not only me, even they have heard the noise .
