"Chris...." A girl wrapped her arms around his shoulders and swung him around in a circle. Chris pinched the bridge of his nose and crossed his arms. He didn't like this girl, but she was the only hope he had to returning to Aetas. The girl giggled and removed herself and hugged her bunny bag instead, still smiling. Chris shook his head and continued walking, ignoring the girl entirely. The girl's grin immediately turned sadistic and saw Chris's body become tense and quickly fixed her emotions. He was too observant for his own good.
"Lyra! Lyra! Lyra? Where did that girl go?" A plump woman called out loud and continuoulsly crossed and uncrossed her arms. "Yuki? Yuki! Would you go find Lyra for me?" She called again and waited for an answer. None. The woman sighed and threw her hands up in defeat.
Underneath the only tree on the only hill in the only city within two hundred miles, were three figures. Lyra sat in her wheelchair, throwing leaves up into the air and giggling as they fell atop her head. She would sneeze and her body would shudder as pain spread throughout her body. The girl named Yuki was quick to get to her side and pat her hand, trying to sooth the pain. Taking her out was a mistake. Yuki started to get behind the wheelchair to take her back to Mammy, the caretaker but Lyra shook her head quickly. Lyra turned towards the third girl, one with crimson hair and a white flowy dress sitting with her hands aroung her knees.
"I'm sorry...I never got your name...I'm Lyra...this is Yuki." Lyra smiled at the newcomer who only tightened her grip around her knees. She turned away and hurt crossed Lyra's face but she changed it to a smile.
"I was born with this disease so I don't get out much. When Michael dropped you off at Mammy's I thought that you were an alien because I never had seen someone with red hair. I always wanted to talk to you as well. I've seen you looking at the picture and I've always wanted to be there as well wondering what you were thinking. Sorry for assuming that we could be friends." Lyra hid her face as Yuki pushed her wheelchair away from the tree and from the crimson haired girl. All Yatagarasu had to do was squeeze and her life would end. Vaene gasped, trying to return the normal airflow to her lungs to no avail. Her gasp was cut off mid-sentence as the hand tightened around her body. A malicious grin spread across Yatagarasu's face, it was too easy to end life.
"Yatagarasu." It was a curt, spoken word that caused Yatagarsu to tense up. Barbossya only stared at his son, a neutral look in his face. The boy released Vaene, staring at her and her companions. He was so close, yet so far. He shot a glance at his father before straightening himself before walking away. Barbossya looked at the three unconscious figures and called out loudly for the human ambassador. She could do something at least.
Kyrie rubbed the bridge between her eyes before removing herself and shot a smile at the twins chatting on Kyrie's bed. Aria and Anissa stared at Kyrie as she slowly removed herself form her work. Aria and Anissa followed behind Kyrie like ducklings following their mother. When they got to the scene, Kyrie didn't understand why she was called in the first place. There were three unconscious figures who Kyrie didn't know and didn't want to know.
"Kyrie, watch after these three or you will be thrown off this ship and I don't care if we have landed or not." Barbossya crossed his arms and walked away without saying another word.
"When did that kid become such a brat?" Barbossya tapped his fingers against his skin in annoyance. He had raised him to be better than what he was in his younger years. He even left Aetas for that very same reason after the banished kid went berserk and killed the Queen. Barbossya shook his head at the thoughts. Maybe it was all his fault, the one who can't even turn back into their normal form. Barbossya sighed and resigned his eyes to stare at his fingers now curled around his elbow. Was it really 500 years ago?
"Sir! Your son wished to speak with you!" A man from above deck called through the mesh on the upper deck of the ship. Barbossya rubbed his bearded chin and nodded slowly as his son made a small curtsy and watched his father's every movement.
"Father, when will we attack the humans? I wish for this to be over in a fortnight. They are disgusting beings that just eat and eat and eat and never know when to stop because they never look back to see what they have left in their destruction. Just give the signal and cities will be burned." Yatagarasu slammed his fists down on the table in front of him, his anger shooting out in all directions. Barbossya only ran his fingers through his beard as he contemplated his son's request. Without an answer, he shooed his son away with a flick of his hand. Even though he didn't like humans, he hated the Unknown even more.
"Yatagarasu, what did the boss say? Is it time to annihilate the humans once and for all?" A boy with blonde hair leaned against part of the wooden support of the ship, watching the expression of his friend. Yatagarasu shook his head, annoyed.
"I don't know why he bothers with the humans when it's clear that we are much stronger and should dominate those below us. I mean, you agree, right Ray?" Ray only shrugged his shoulders and removed himself from view. Yatagarasu followed shortly, silent as a snake.
"Why is he so much like me in my earlier years?" Barbossya stood up, shaking his head and allowing pops to spread throughout his body as his legs took on his weight. The Captain's Quarters was stuffy and crowded and Barbossya felt chained and immediately headed outwards to wards the deck. The sunlight surrounded him, revealing every little perfection on him, scars and all. On the deck were his crew and a few children he was transporting back to their home, Aetas. There were three children in total, one brunette, one with mahogany brown hair and lastly the girl had a midnight black hair. Though they looked only about ten or eleven, Barbossya knew better about Unknown children. In reality they were about a thousand years old, almost nine thousand years younger than him.
"Was I really that young?" He chuckled and walked to the side of the deck, leaning his arms on the railing and allowing the sea salt to spray his beard.
