Betty and Jughead were sitting cuddled up on his bed occasionally stealing small kisses from each other. It was a happy moment, one with less drama than the previous days, one where they were just happy to be together again. They didn't care how long it would last because every second was just perfect.
"Juggie I have a question. How exactly was I supposed to enjoy the drive-in if it's in Riverdale?"
"Oh that part, well I was going to convince you to go to Riverdale with me so you can be there for the grand opening."
"Wh-what when is it do we still have time to go?"Betty asked, going into half panic mode. She didn't want to miss this. She would be devastated if she missed this because of her mistakes.
"Um yeah if we live like right now we can."
"I'll start packing."
Betty and Jughead quickly packed for 3 days because that was how long they planned on staying. Betty could barrel contain her excitement. She was so happy to see her family again and get to spend time with them in one of their favorite spots in the world. And on top of that, her favorite boy in the world would be there too; knowing that he was the reason that any of this could even happen. As much as that made her happy, it also made her want to cry simultaneously; Betty truly hated the way that she treated Jughead. Yeah, she had trust issues with led her to not trust most people, but she had let Jughead in and he had turned out to be a sweet, kind-hearted boy that loved her more than anything, and the second she thought he did something even remotely wrong she jumped to the first possibility and went with it not even giving it a second thought.
Betty didn't even notice that she started to cry already. Salty tears rolling down her face grouping up together under her nose and chin. Jughead noticed the sad girl pulling over on the side of the road thinking that something could be terribly wrong.
"Hey hey Bets what is wrong babe," Jughead asked affectionately starting to rub her back hope to calm her breathing so she could explain what's wrong
"I just I don't get how you can just forgive me I hurt you with my stupid assumptions and-."
"Hey hey hey stop right there don't finish whatever you are about to say ok. I forgave you because I love you and I know that you were just trying to protect your heart and I don't blame you for that ok I will love you no matter what ok?" Betty couldn't find the words to say so she simply nodded with a small smile on her face showing she truly understood.
"You know we chose a terrible time of the month for all this drama to go down." she wiped away her tears looking into her mirrors jughead looked at her with a slightly confused face until he let out a small sigh understanding what she meant by the time of the month.
The rest of the car ride was plain and simple. A comfortable silence floating through the air as the two sat quietly driving down the deserted road occasionally throwing small glaciers and smiles at each other. When they finally got to Riverdale they decided to spend the night at the five seasons so as not to deserve her mom's slumber at the time of night. Snuggling up together in bed they have never felt so at peace that the next day was going to be a little hectic due to the arrival of the new drive-in. It was to get a lot of rest and with their favorite people in the world.
The next day(arrival of drive-in)
Jughead's alarm went off at 6 am because he had to get up to prepare the grand opening with the rest of his team. He nearly fell out of bed and quickly turned it off trying not to disturb the beauty beside him. Lucky for the jughead the loud ring along with the jerk of his body did not wake her; only caused her to stir a little and turn to face him on the bed. Even though he knew that he would have to get up, jughead just couldn't bear to take his eyes off of her face. Her blonde hair frazzled and laid out all over the pillow some on her face, and how the rays from the sun beamed down on her body causing her arms and face to have a nice glow to them in the light. Knowing that if he didn't get up at that time he was going to be late with the finishing up so he slipped out of bed taking a quick shower and slipped on a blake t-shirt paired with blue jeans and his Beanie of course he was about to run out the main door of the building when he turned back around running into the lunchroom and grabbing a fruit salad and parfait running back up to his room and leaving them on the bedside table with a little note for betty when she woke up then leaving to start his work.
About an hour after jughead had left Betty woke up from her slumber feeling around for the body of her boyfriend(that sounded dark)but only being met with a cold empty spot there. Betty slowly got up looked around for him but broke out into a smile when she noticed the salad and yogurt on the table with a yellow sticky note, she picked it up her smile growing when she read what he had written down
Hey sorry, I had to run but I got you a little something for breakfast and got an uber so the car is all yours for the day. Hope you have fun while I'm out until the opening.
I love seeing you later.
Betty laughed at the slight nervousness that she felt coming off the note. It was cute how he could write beautiful things but when it came down to the little notes he lifted, he would get all flustered and not know what to write. Betty ate her salad and yogurt while watching a little bit of tv before hoping for the showing but it was as hot as it will go. The amazing feeling of the hot pellets noting her warmth massaging her muscles but her mind and body at ease. When she got out she quickly slipped into a skin-tight pink sweater and a black mid-thigh skirt along with knee-high socks grabbing her purse and car keys so she could head over to her mom's not waiting to spend her day in the hotel alone all day. Betty pulled up to the house pulling out her key to open up the door. Once she got in she was nicely greeted with the fresh and delicious smell of cookies in the air along with her mom humming in the kitchen as she walked into her.
"Hey, mama," Betty said with a wide smile letting out a small giggle at the way the older woman jumped from the surprising presents of her youngest child.
"Oh god Betty honey what-what are you doing here?" Alice engulfed her daughter in her strong and warm embrace.
"Well, I came here for the grand reopening of the Drive-in mom."
"Oh yes oh, Betty you really have a good man here you really do. I was in tears when I found out what he was doing, but Jughead had called and told me you wouldn't be showing any problems." Alice said with a slightly censored face as she pulled away looking her daughter up and down trying to find any issues."
"What happened Betty?" she paused and let out a loud gasp thinking she realized what was happening.
"Oh my god, are you pregnant please tell me you're pregnant?"
"What no mom is not pregnant it was something else I'll tell you about later ok but I do want to have some of those cookies." betty said as she reached around her mom to grab one of the finished cookies off the cooling tray. Betty and Alice spent the rest of the day sitting around the house eating and talking about any and everything including the whole cheating incident that Betty wasn't really in the mood to talk about so they passed over that.
"God jughead this is all so beautiful I can't believe you pulled it all together,'' Betty said they started to climb into the car getting under the blankets and snuggling up to each other. Betty was once again put into shock when she saw the name Rebel Without a Cause come onto the screen.
"My favorite movie too?" betty asked snuggling even farther into him
"Best boyfriend ever," she said with her biggest smile of the night as the movie started up.
