I still couldn't believe the events that had happened today no matter how much I tried to remember nothing was coming back to me. Clearly I wasn't good at hiding the fact I was on the verge of having a metal breakdown when a gorgeous girl with brown dreadlock hair that had gold cuffs entangled through it, light brown skin and the most beautiful brown eyes I had ever seen came over and said "You alright there greenie?" She looked straight at me.
Greenie. There was that word everyone had been calling me today, I was sick if it. "Don't call me greenie. My names Y/n, use it." She smirked sitting down with her back against the same log that I was resting on, facing away from the bonfire. "You're a feisty girl aren't ya, greenie"
Her use of the nickname was clearly to piss me off but even though she was super hot that didn't mean she was gonna get away with it. My thoughts were cut off when she spoke again, "Cat got your tongue greenie?" There was that nickname again. My mind filled with thoughts on how to respond before my body reacted quickly spinning round grabbing her shoulders and shoving her to the ground while straddling her and saying quietly in her ear "I told you my name's Y/n, use it." Her breathing had quickened and without realising so had mine. Her mouth opened once again except this time it was only to be shut again after she nodded her head and licked her lips. Her gaze moved away from mine causing me to look over where she was as if I was suspecting something interesting. Instead she was using it as a distraction to flip the position we were in.
One of her hands was pushed hard into the grass next to my head the other placed on my waist holding me in place. This time words escaped her mouth quickly, "Let's see if you like this position as much as I did..." I shook my head slowly then replied "Oh, it's great... especially since everyone is now staring at us." This time her eyes darted over to the crowd of girls watching us like animals in a zoo. I rolled her off of me shoving her to the ground then standing up straight and finishing the drink that had been in her hand when walking over with one quick swig. "You might need to get some more of that..." before she was back on her feet I walked off with the empty bottle in my hand and all eyes on me. I walked up to Julia and said "Refill please" she chuckled then said "You might wanna lay off the booze, your days been hectic enough." I laughed at the fact that her statement was true. "Nah, I'm good, thanks for the advice though." I shouted these last words as I walked towards the Deadheads with a fresh bottle of beer. I flopped down and pressed my back up against the cold bark of a tall willow tree. It's branches drooped towards the ground creating a canopy of green above my head. Without thinking I closed my eyes as tight as I could and fought back tears knowing that crying would only make me feel worse. A single tear rolled down my cheek and fell onto the ground beside me. My breathing became shaky and unsteady. My eyes dried and my face was scratchy with the absence of tears. I tilted my head back to rest it against the trunk of the tree. Then a loud crunch came from behind me.
It was the girl who's drink I had stolen.
"You still sad there greenie?" She clearly hadn't learned her lesson from before but I brushed past it simply huffing and continuing to look at the ground. The girl walked over and sat down next to me with her back resting on the same tree as me. "What's your name?" I said quickly realising she hadn't told me. "Harriet, I like yours more though, Y/n"
Harriet
She had such a pretty name and had finally decided to use mine. "Pretty name you got there." I said with a slight nod and a smirk.
Her head turned towards mine and our eyes met. I could feel my cheeks heating up when my consciousness was turned to Harriet's hand reaching out and removing a small leaf from my hair. Her hand traced down my cheek and my eyes followed it as she was clearly enjoying making me nervous. I could feel her eyes searching my face, without realising my chest had tightened and my breathing had slowed. When her hand dropped from my face I felt a sense of disappointment that our bodies were no longer touching. I stood up quickly causing Harriet to flinch as I moved. "Your not scared of me are you?" I said with a big smirk on my face. She scoffed then stood up replying, "Please you could never scare me, kitten"
"Kitten?" My head tilted and eyebrows raised at the nickname she had chose for me.
"Yup, that's what I'm gonna call you. Your cute like a kitten but will scratch someones eyes out if they piss you off. It's perfect"
Cute. Harriet thinks I'm cute, I shouldn't care what she thinks of me but for a some odd reason I do. Knowing that she thinks I'm cute fills my chest with a warm feeling.
Her hands were resting by her sides loosely as she stood looking straight into my eyes from about a metre away. She took a step forward closing the gap between us. Just as she was away to open her mouth I cut her off saying "I'll see you later, Harriet.." I loved the way her name rolled if my tongue and walked away quickly without looking back, knowing that she was watching me walk away.
When I knew I was out of her sight my chest loosened and I let out a loud sigh.
I stood still running my hands through my hair trying to process what was going on when a hand grabbed my wrist and spun me round to face Harriet once again. Our bodies were even closer this time, her hand still gripped tightly around my wrist. My hand has slipped up to her shoulder when I was turned quickly.
"Sorry..." I muttered quickly removing my hand. "What do you want Harriet?"
She looked a bit taken back then spoke, "Nothing, Kitten.."
I was starting to get sick of her being cryptic, "Harriet, I'm serious. What the fuck do you want?" This time the look of hurt on her face was replaced with a slight nod and her saying, "Y'know what, y/n? Fuck you.."
I scoffed, "Hah, I would but you would enjoy it too much" My voice was steady as i walked away back towards the bonfire.
