(Time skip to school)
Embers POV
Walking into school as a band is always weird. Everyone stares at us and whisper to each other. As we walk through the corridor we see Bobby stood by his locker. "Bobby!" The three boys next to me shout "ahh guys I told you to stop doing that!" He shouted after he came down from his jump which made me jump a bit. Luke rested his hands on Alex's shoulders and leaned towards the group. "So when's our next gig?" With his signature smirk on his face. I swear we're not related at some points I don't even remotely look like him, he's brunette I'm blonde he has brown eyes I have blue but I guess that's where I look like our dad and he looks like our mum which explains why mums usually nice to him. Key word usually. She's horrible to him sometimes and if I try to stand up to her to help him. It doesn't go well at all.
We continue talking about how we're planning on making new songs in the loft and seeing if there was a way to change a few parts to already existing songs. Luke doesn't agree. "Why do we have to change now or never? it's the best song we've got em!" He all but screamed in the hallway gaining looks from people around us. "Would you shut the hell up you're so loud." Alex commented whilst rubbing his temples "look we can talk about it more later but seriously "time moves forward but we stay the same? We can make that better, it sounds too boring." Sure, they usually agreed on songs they had a similar mindset with music however this time ember wanted her own choice instead of it being a group decision. They stood there for a while talking about normal things until the bell rang and they dispersed. Ember walking quickly to get to music. Shocker it was her favourite class.
"Hey Emmy wait up!" She heard whilst speeding down the hall. She came to a slow walk waiting for her best friend to catch up. Turning around she saw the boy fall over his own two feet whilst trying to run to her. Cackling she walked over to him and reached a hand to help him up. He grabbed onto her but instead of him getting up she got dragged down with him. She landed with a thud on top of a warm body. She registered quickly that she'd fallen directly on top of him.
He looked up at her with his hands securely round her waist keeping her in place whilst he brought his free hand up to examine her face to see any sign of marks. "Hey woah I'm so sorry, are you okay em?" He stuttered out whilst looking at her eyes for any sign of pain. "Yeah reg is alright don't worry." She said softly as to make sure he knew she was sure.
They both got up quickly brushing themselves off and looking anywhere but at each other. The position had been a little too intense for them in that moment. Sure they're usually touchy but that was a new level of intimacy that they weren't used too nor were they expecting. Ember quickly looked at reggie and said goodbye and practically ran away to her class. She doesn't care that she's late she just wants to get rid of the thumping that's taken over her pulse.
Reggie is left standing in the middle of the hallway starstruck and unable to comprehend what had just happened. Why did she act like that? He asked himself. that was so weird usually we don't get like that over stupid slip ups. Walking to his class he tried to think of reasons why she had been so flustered but nothing came too mind. He sat down in his seat next to Alex and put his head straight down on the desk with a loud smack. "Dude are you okay?" " have you noticed anything different with ember lately? Like is she getting flustered around any of the other guys or have I done something wrong?" Reg asked in one breath getting his words out fast so he didn't stutter "I don't know reg, she's been off but nothing really bad"
Little does reggie know that Alex knows the exact reason why she's acting off and usually would jump at the chance to tell him a secret but promised ember that he wouldn't utter a word. He always kept his promises to ember. Always.
