Dad left.
The only thing left was an envelope of cash on the fridge and a note that said CALL GARCIA.
So I picked up the phone and dialed the number on the card, placing it up to my ear.
"Hello?" Garcia said.
"Hey!" I wiped my eyes lightly, "Uh it's Georgina Summers? My dad told me to call you?"
"Gigi! Perfect. I just wanted to call and talk to you about moving everything forward." Garcia said into the phone.
Forward? We were already moving so fast. I mean, a few days ago I went down to his Sydney office and signed the papers. I was set to start in June, which was only weeks away."Forward?" I asked.
"Yes. I talked to your school and you're able to still get your high school diploma if you leave a few weeks early." A few weeks early? How much earlier could I already leave, I mean there were only a few weeks more of school.
"Uhh... okay? I mean how much is earlier?"
"Sunday."
"Sunday? As in this Sunday?"I asked.
"Georgina, you'll realize this whenever you start learning more about the music business, it's all a race. You have a unique voice and if you don't start soon, someone else is going to come, slightly better, and steal your stardom beneath your feet before you can even move to Canada."
I shook my head lightly, pressing my tongue to the inside of my cheek.
"Can you do that?" He asked at my silence.
I looked over to the fridge, and a photo of the 8 of us was hung up with a magnet. It was from about a year ago, Willow had Ashton in a headlock on the grass. Kiara and Michael were sitting on the grass staring up at Maddie who was on Calum's shoulders screaming at Calum to put him down. I was hung from Luke's waist upside down laughing as Luke held my back in support laughing down at me also.
Luke's mom took the photo I think, I wasn't sure."Yeah." I muttered, "That should be fine."
~~~~~~~
"Hey," Luke said opening up the front door slightly so I could step in.
We were finishing our questions today and then we'd do our essays on our own summarizing our experiences and what these results mean."Hey," I said back.
Lately, it was weird but also not weird between me and Luke. It was just new. Us not hating eachother, but also not in a relationship.
So it was just kinda weird.I walked to his room and sat down on the corner of his bed opening up my journal from my backpack. He sat done on the other end lying against the headboard.
"Ready for this project to be over?" He asked.No.
"Yeah," I muttered lightly flipping to the questions I had written down.
I scanned over the questions and landed my eyes on question 16."What is your favorite core memory?" I asked him.
Luke's eyebrows scrunched for a second as he thought. He smiled just a tad.
I knew my answer to the question. It was an easy one, it happened two years ago when we were in
"grade 10." Luke said finishing the words I had only spoken in my head, "We were going to a formal at some school that wasn't even ours but you found the event on Facebook and RSVP for us to go. And then we got kicked out and had to walk home all the way from the other side of town because we didn't want to call my mom to pick us up."
