"What are you guys doing here?!" I asked.

"Your friend is very persuasive!" he answered. "Come on, we don't have time to lose!"

We all nodded and followed him outside. The hospital was strangely deserted, but we could see from the windows that the outside was the scenery of war. Roaches against Cicadas and villagers.

"Oh, shit..." I said as we all ran in the other direction.

"Where are we going?" asked Heidi.

"You need weapons," said Maya. "And we got a perfect stash for you,"

The night on the outside gave the ballet an even scarier theme. I saw the survivors battling everywhere, losing blood, losing lives. Both sides were strong, and we couldn't tell who was winning, but I knew we were going to be victorious in the end. I was sure of it.

We had to stealthily move throughout the hospital, avoiding certain patrols looking for invaders. At some point, we met with a lynx very similar to the one who had beaten me up months ago, but it couldn't be the same. Mason told me he was dead.

We hid behind a counter and watched the lynx walk around, without leaving his post.

What a coward. I thought.

We couldn't afford to enter in combat with Maya, so we had to do it stealthily, and I was lucky Mason had taught me how to a while ago, so I took Senior Maya's knife from her waist and started walking towards the lynx while crouching.

I felt the tension of the people behind me, but I also was sure of what I was doing. As soon as I got close enough, I jumped and crossed my legs over his waist. Locking his paws with my left arm and cutting his neck with the right one, he was dead in seconds and didn't even know who did it.

I whispered for the others to follow me. I saw everyone clearly impressed that I was able to do something like this, and I could also feel a hint of pride coming from my father as he nodded at me.

We kept running towards the end of the hospital and when we finally burst through the exit doors, we had a better look at the bloodshed on the outside.

My dad ran straight into his car and grabbed a package of weapons. Then he tossed everyone their tool like they were chosen for their respective bearers.

Heidi got kunais bonded by chains, and there could be seen a clear excitement in his face when he held them on his paws.

Harch received a mechanical crossbow, with an aim and everything. It also had a lighter, meaning he could choose between flaming and explosive arrows.

"Jesus Christ, Sauer," he said with a smile.

But the one who got most excited was Hazel. As the scabbard was held in the fox's paws, Hazel grabbed the handle and slid out a shiny and silvery katana, what I knew to be the most powerful type of sword ever created.

"Oh my fucking god," Hazel said.

The three friends looked at each other, then back at us. I could see the eager teenagers from before the Furfall in their eyes. But I could also see the bloodthirst they had for the ones who lied to them for thirty years straight.

"It's not over yet," my dad said, and as I looked at him, he handed me a rifle. Nicole's rifle. I looked at it then back at him.

"Mason told me what happened, it's not your fault," he said. "Not soak up those tears," he grabbed a shotgun. "Prepare your aim," he loaded it. "And let's kill some fucking cockroaches,"

"Hell yeah!" said Hazel.

"Uh...," said Maya. "Who's gonna take care of the kid?"

Little Maya was cooing in the arms of her mother. As if she recognized her as Mason's biological mom.
