"There you are," I heard a voice say I sit up to see Preston climbing up onto the roof "what do you want," I asked giving him a lazy smirk. It was funny watching him struggle a bit to get up onto the roof. "Everyone was looking for you. They saw the window open and assumed you ran," Preston told me as he walked closer to me and sat beside me "well tell them to chill. I'm not running without at least a backpack of clothes and money," I told him. "That will surely put them at ease," Preston said then rolled his eyes "forgive me putting people at ease isn't my strong suite," I said "I noticed," he said. We stared at each other for a moment before laughing lightly at how sarcastic and playfully rude we were to each other just now.
We both then fell into a comfortable silence "the stars are very beautiful tonight," Preston said "yeah," I said laying back down. "Do you spent time up here often," Preston asked "does the pillows and blanket not make it obvious," I asked Preston chuckled "they do," he said "but I thought it be the right thing to ask first," "fair point," I said. Preston and I went back to a comfortable silence as we stared at the sky. He slowly laid beside me "so where does your fascination with the stars come from," Preston asked me, I smiled softly "my dad," I answered.
"We use to spend hours on the roof just staring at the stars," I told Preston as we both just stared at them "your dad meant a lot to you didn't he," Preston asked me. "He was my best friend," I answered "but somehow my dad could be my best friend yet be a parent to as well," I told Preston. "Wish my dad was like that. He is just a strict parent," Preston informed me, I sucked air in while keeping my teeth together making a hissing sound. "I don't do well with authority that is wrong," I said Preston chuckled "I know," he answered I giggled. We then fell into a comfortable silence once more.
"Do you think our parents relationship will last," Preston asked me "nope," I answered "me either," Preston agreed. "It was kind of obvious your dad can't handle chaotic behavior," I told Preston "oh yeah. My dad has to have everything done in an orderly quite peaceful manner," Preston said "oh no we don't do quite or peaceful," I said sitting up. Preston was smiling at he sat up next to me "I know but it is also really nice," he told me, I raised an eyebrow at him in questioning "it's nice to get away from the way I have lived my entire life. To be part of this close and crazy family," Preston told me helping me understand more. I smirked bringing my eyebrow down "I am glad to hear that," I said looking back up to the sky. Preston and I both then just sat there staring up at the stars I helped Preston see the constellations, and he was impressed with how easily I could find them. For once I think Preston and I can actually get along.
