After my shower I went back to my room to see Clara and Jazzy's things in there I rolled my eyes as a smile graced my lips. I laid down on my bed just trying to get a handle on things when I heard Nonna's voice. "Tyler, Dear can I talk to you," I sat up real quick "God what is she up to now," I muttered to myself as I moved closer to my door to hear. "Um sure," Tyler said "I know what I said before was quite embarrassing," Nonna started by saying "but I have to admit I got a real kick out of seeing my granddaughter beet red," Nonna laughed. I felt my eyebrow twitch as I closed one of my hands into a fist. "I'll get her for this," I swore as in continued to listen "really Kiera even blushed," Tyler asked sounding surprised.
"Yes," Nonna said I could imagine her nodding her head "you see Kiera never was much an emotional girl when she was little. I know it's strange for girls to not me emotional even a bit. But after her father's murder and Sandra moving the kids to Italy. I saw in Keira's eyes that her light was going out," Nonna said which caught me off guard. I leaned against the door still listening "Kiera when she was smaller though she wasn't very emotional. You could always see this sort of light in her eyes that shines brightly. Everyone knew it was how happy she was. But again seeing her father die before her very eyes began to destroy that light," Nonna told Tyler.
"Clarissa rarely ever talks about this. But once she got very drunk and Kiera had just came home in the middle of the night. She came home to see her mother yelling at Matty in a drunken state. Matty was crying out of fear. He was only two so luckily he doesn't remember it. But Clarissa got tired of hearing Matty cry and beg for his daddy. That she picked up her empty alcohol bottle and threw it at Matty. Kiera was able to move fast enough to block it with her back. It shattered on impact and the noise woke the entire house up. Kiera had a few pieces of glass in her back and many scratches and cuts. I remember feeling shock at that point but I couldn't believe what happened next. Kiera turned around and laid her mother out with one blow.
"In her eyes I saw at the point I saw anger and darkness. I understand why she would be so upset but it was level of anger and darkness I had never seen in her before. One of sons took Kiera to hospital to go get stitched up and have the glass removed. The next day Clarissa apologized over and over to Kiera. But Kiera always told her," I spoke with my grandmother for I even remember those words. "You want to make it up to me. Stay sober and be a fucking mother again," I sighed closing my eyes "that was the only time I let a grandchild of my cuss in my house," Nonna said making me smirk. "Sure enough though Clarissa sobered up and worked hard at her job and with being a good mother. Kiera though seemed to only have been getting angrier as the months went by. Though our family loves her dearly and know she was just in pain. We're tired of having to tip toe around her. So we sent her away," Nonna said.
"You blame yourselves for Jerry chasing her," Tyler said after a moment of silence had happened passed "yes we do," Nonna said. "I was afraid she'd blame the family for everything. Instead she just smirked at all of us and said to forget about it. But earlier I saw that light in her eyes again. When you all started talking about her with such care, admiration, and love," Nonna said making me feel shocked "it was good to see that light in her eyes again," "it will come back. It will just take time," Tyler told Nonna. "I hope so," Nonna said "well Goodnight Tyler," I then heard Tyler tell her goodnight and then a door closed shut.
"You know Tyler," I hear Clara say suddenly "you could bring that light back to her," in my head I punched Clara for even saying something like that. But in reality I blushed hardcore "Clara I don't think it's smart for me to date now. Look what I had done to you," Tyler said. He made such a great point. "Someone people can change quickly for the right person," Clara said "look how we have all changed in a short amount of time due to Kiera. Without her, we would both still be miserable," "I hate when your right," Tyler sighed. "So does Nick," Clara said with a giggle I smiled softly glad to see they were both in better places.
But I doubted I could date Tyler or anyone honestly, especially Tyler. What happened between the two of them is still pretty recent and I wouldn't want to step on toes. I sighed pushing up off the wall I opened my window and climbed out it onto the roof. I laid back on the roof and looked to the clear starry night sky. I closed my eyes as I let my thoughts run wild. Everything that has happened since moving her passed my mind along with multiple different emotions. But what I still couldn't get over was my new Jerry situation.
I sighed "What do you think I should do Dad," I said opening my eyes to look to the sky. A shooting star passed over and I smiled as I remember the wish I made with my dad years ago it seems like."Look Kiera a shooting star," Dad said I smiled big "wow," I said amazed "quick let's make a wish," Dad said. "What should it be," I asked Dad thought for a moment "I got it,0 he said finally. "For us to always make decisions based on our hearts," I smiled and nodded my head "we wish to always make decisions based on our hearts feelings," Dad and I said. We both the smiled up at the sky filled with dazzling shinning stars.
