Stars were sprinkled effortlessly and randomly through the dark night sky, the color blending in with the trees and earth, in an action where your eyes couldn't differentiate between the three. Closing your eyes, you sat behind (g/p) cabin at three in the morning, your back against your cabin. Tugging your blanket over your shoulders, you opened your eyes and watched the stars again, a shaky breath escaping your lips. Surprised you haven't got caught, you let your hand rest on the grass beside you, as you recalled the moments during the day that fucked you over in the worst way.

A stray tear left your eye, as you cursed quietly, getting mad at yourself for letting something like that have such a big impact on you. But, you knew, that something like that wasn't little. It was big. You hated liars, especially when they made you look dumb, lifted your spirits high then shot them down in a matter of seconds, doing unspeakable things that- that- drove you insane. You dragged a hand through your short, (h/c) locks, chewing on your bottom lip in an attempt to stop the tears you thought as sheepish. You dragged the back of your hand across your cheek, smudging the tear across your face.

"Y/N." You jumped slightly at the voice, not expecting anyone to be around, especially at this time. You looked up, glassy eyes making out Nico di Angelo in the dark of the night. "Are you okay?" He asked, a hint of concern in his voice. You shook your head, no use of lying now. It was dark, late, and you could use the company before you drove yourself insane. "Do you want me to leave?" Nico asked sheepishly, and you shook your head once more, letting your head hang.

"Stay. Please." You croaked slightly, not really caring about your pride anymore. You got hurt, and the whole camp knew it. Your fingers traced over the many blades of grass, as Nico sat beside you, eyes trained on the sky. You both sat in the silence of the night, despite the rustle of leaves from the wind, and the various crickets deep in the forest singing their endless songs. Pretty soon the birds would join in their endless melody. You cursed again, voice shaky, resting your head against your cabin.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Nico finally asked, which seemed forced to you, but you didn't mind. You did guilt trip the kid in staying with you, and the silence was becoming overbearing. A shaky breath escaped your lips, and you looked at the son of Hades, his usual deep brown eyes indistinct in the dark and shadows of three am.

"I'm sorry-" You stopped, pulling your gaze away from the son of Hades, letting it settle on the dark grass blades instead. "-you don't have to stay if you don't want to, Nico. I'm okay enough to stay alone." You spoke. Unannounced to you, Nico frowned, looking out into the forest, pushing a hand through his messy, relatively long black locks. He wondered if he'd have a chance now, since you- no. Nico shook his head slightly.

"I'm staying, Y/N." Nico spoke firmly, causing your head to rise, wide (e/c) eyes looking straight into his own. "You haven't told me what's wrong, and I can't sleep anyway." Nico shrugged, plucking a blade of grass and tossing it aside mindlessly. You sighed, choking back a cry from your lips, clamping your hand over your mouth.

"I-Um. Kam-" You cursed at the sound of the guy's name escaping your lips, and you shook your head slightly. "Kam fucking made a fool of me. He made me-" You stopped again, ducking your head. "He fucked with my emotions so much, made me-" You slammed your fist against the back of your cabin, resulting in small bits and pieces shattering off the wall. "I hate Aphrodite." You managed to grumble in your blind rage.

"What did he-" Nico's voice died in his throat, as he watched you shrink away from his body. Nico clenched his fists slightly. "Y/N, he didn't-" You refused to raise your head. Nico stood up, deciding that a few harsh words and stabs to the heart should do. Before he walked off, you wrapped your hand around his wrist, tugging the ghost king back.

"Stay here. Please." You plead, and Nico turned, a scowl on his face. Sitting beside you once more, Nico grumbled beneath his breath, clenching his fists slightly. You grasped the blanket around you, and pulled it tightly around your shoulders once more.

"Y/N, you can't just- you can't stay quiet about this." Nico said, a slight tone of anger in his voice. You sighed, tears welling in your dark, (e/c) eyes. A shaky breath escaped your lips, as your knuckles grew white from the grip on your blanket.

"Do you really think they're going to fucking believe me, Nico? Me? Kam's popular, he's likable, he's- fuck. I can't say anything, Nico. They wouldn't believe me." Your voice became quiet, you hated that boy. He played with your heart so much, that you've done bad for him. You, you- You started crying, heart wrenching sobs that sent Nico off edge. You finally gave in, wrapping your arms around Nico's torso, burying your face in the chest of the shocked son of Hades. "I didn't want him to die, Nico. He died-Kam made me- He charmspeaked me to kill him I didn't-" You choked on your own sorrow, pouring out the endless emotion that laid in your body.

Nico buried his hand in your hair, cooing quietly, lulling you back to tranquility. Your cries silenced slowly, and you looked up, grasping Nico's tear stained shirt in your fists. "I'm sorry-" You croaked, eyes red, "-I tugged you into this mess, I don't-" You stopped again, and pulled away from Nico's grasps, wiping your tears from your face. You laughed slightly. "I'm sorry." You repeated, leaning your head back and watching the stars above. Nico watched you with deep brown eyes. "You're a good guy, Nico, you know that?" You spoke, and finally your gaze landed on the boy, who blushed.

Effortlessly, you grasped his hand in your own, pulling yourself closer to the slightly tensed boy, as you both sat in a silence beneath the black sky littered with soft, glowing stars. What a scene, you thought, two boys, holding hands beneath the dark sky littered with stars. One, face tear stained, red eyes staring into the sky, messy hair with a blanket draped over them. Another, dark messy hair falling into his eyes, deep brown eyes staring into the forest, a blush spread across his cheeks.

It was the first time, in a few weeks, where you felt, genuinely, okay. You felt cared for, for someone that you knew, and could potentially be in a relationship with, if he liked you back. And it felt good, a fuzzy warm feeling in your stomach erupted, and your eyes glanced over at Nico. The moonlight danced across his olive skin, the blush across his cheeks hidden from your eyes. "Nico?" You finally broke the silence, and watched as he turned, deep brown eyes flicking to your own.

"Hmm?" He hummed, trying to stay as cool as possible, despite his heart racing. It was around four in the morning, and he was holding hands with the one boy that made his stomach in a whirl and the boy's smile made Nico's brain melt. He was nervous, for reasons you didn't know.

"Have I ever complimented you?" You asked, and Nico, in shock, squeezed your hand slightly, as a chuckle escaped your lips. Nico's face burned, as he stared at the dark grass on the floor. Shaking his head, you frowned, furrowed eyebrows distinct against skin lit by the moon. "Well. It's four in the morning, the moon is perfect, we're past curfew, and I wouldn't want anyone else beside me, I wouldn't want anybody with me right now besides you. Literally nobody else." You spoke, and Nico looked at you, a slight smile on his face.

"Really?" He asked.

"Really." You replied, smiling at the grass.

And there you two sat, eventually falling for each other, and asleep on one another.

Two giddy, teenaged boys with fucked up lives, cloudy minds, and hearts of gold, who found love beneath a starry sky at four in the morning.
