Don't worry if you can't keep track of Dahlia's nieces and nephews; Kaveh can't either.

We arrived at the resort a couple hours ago.

It's just as beautiful as the photos promised. Green lake, luscious trees, plenty of open space with spring flowers in bloom. We've almost completed unpacking, Ibrahim is taking the kids to the pool ignoring their mother's worries about allowing the children near water.

It's going good so far, but everyone misses you. I miss you.

The journey here was just as hectic and stressful as expected. The kids cried and screamed the entire way. Ibrahim attempted to start a rhyme-along with the twins, but the siblings got into a fight about who will to sit on his lap and it made the situation worse. The crying has subsided since we arrived, Thank Allah.

Guess what? Since I'm here without a husband or child I have to share a room with someone. I'm still fuming at the unfairness of it all. I'm paired with Rose since she's the only other one without a husband. At least I'll be spending the night with Uthman, who's the quietest kid of the bunch. Imagine the horror if I had to share a room with the twins. They wouldn't have let me sleep a wink for the entire weekend.

The parents have settled themselves at the lodge. These fancy men dressed in white are standing by with bottomless pitchers of refreshment drinks, but my desi family is already demanding tea. The elders are comparing whose gut has grown the most over the Eid weekend, so you know the Dad jokes have already begun as well.

I have to end this soon since I hear my name being called. Despite all the chaos, I see the promise of a sweet weekend. Wish you were here though; not just because that would have guaranteed me our own room, but your presence makes everything better.

You know, the kids might act like little demons high on sugar, but they look like the sweetest angels. Watching them is making me wish we had one to call ours as well.

I'll remember to send you plenty of pictures. I hope you're able to take some time off to relax this weekend yourself.

Don't miss me too much.
