Steve and DumbDog on a small roadtrip.

Disclaimer: This takes place during Vagas. I had an idea while starting the writing, so Janet and Kimi are in the car as well.

WARNING: Fluff, slight angst.

Steve was driving despite how hung over he was. He moved his right hand off the steering wheel and held it out to DumbDog. The taller male took his hand and intertwined their fingers. It felt right. Very soon, he wouldn't be able to touch the other. He tightened his grip on the other's hand. He was silent, afraid that speaking would expose how upset he really was.

He was taking DumbDog to the airport so he could fly back to Texas. Janet and Kimi were in the backseat, they were silent as well. Maybe to not take away from the couples time together. Maybe because they didn't have anything to say. Steve wasn't sure. All he knew was he had to say goodbye to DumbDog soon.

"Steve?"

With much hesitation, Steve glanced at DumbDog and let out a hum. He couldn't speak. He didn't want to risk crying. Not infront of them. They would never let him live it down. He would be teased about it forever.

"Baby? What's wrong?" Apollo watched Steve's expression. He knew the boy better than he thought. He could tell something was wrong. He could also tell Janet and Kimi sensed it as well.

"It's nothing."

"It isn't nothing, what's the matter?"

"I just," Steve paused and he let out a small sigh. "I don't want to say goodbye."

The taller male looked back at Janet and Kimi. The two had empathetic looks on their faces. They knew that the two had only been able to see each other the four days they were in Vagas. Janet couldn't imagine how hard it must be on them. Sure they picked the long distance relationship, but it still wasn't fair or easy.

"I don't want to say goodbye either baby," Apollo turned his attention back on Steve. He lifted the brunettes hand to his lips pressing a soft kiss to it. "I wished we didn't have to, but I need to go back home."

"I don't want you to. I just finally got you in my grasp and you are slipping out of it again," Steve couldn't help the frown on his face. "I don't want you to go."

"I know baby." DumbDog rubbed small circles into Steve's hand. He took a moment to think. How could he distract Steve from the idea of him leaving? He could talk about their time together. That would work right?

"Do you remember what we said last night?"

Steve nodded his head, "Of course."

Apollo had led Steve inside the hotel room. The male was drunk from the drinking games they had played. The only saving grace was that the male was not blackout drunk. The older male stumbled over his feet and he giggled a little. "I don't want this night to end."

Dumbdog was a little thrown from the random statement. He got Steve into bed and he grabbed his pajamas. "I don't want this night to end either."

"These past few days have been amazing." Steve muttered as DumbDog helped him get changed. He looked up at his boyfriend and he smiled. "I am glad I got to see you."

The other climbed into the bed after changing himself and he pulled Steve into his chest. "I'm glad I got to see you too. I am even more glad I got the chance to hold you."

"Do you think we will ever meet up again?"

"100 percent. There is no way I wouldn't fly out to see you."

The room went silent for a moment. Steve had his head resting on Apollo's chest and he listened to his heartbeat. "You know I love you, right?"

"I do, and I love you." A light kiss was pressed to Steve's head.

"I know you promised but are you sure we will meet up again?" Steve glanced at DumbDog before returning his eyes to the road. He was so worried that if he let the man leave he wouldn't come back.

"Of course we will."

The older of the two nodded and he let out a small breath. He thought back to the first time he met DumbDog in person. It was so surreal. "You know I was so nervous to meet you."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

Steve had pulled up at Hafu's place with Janet. He parked the car and he sat there with his hands on the steering wheel. He was so nervous. Hafu had texted Janet telling her that DumbDog was already there. Janet being in the car with Steve  had told him.

Janet was about to get out when she noticed the male's anxiety. She offered a smile and she put a hand on his shoulder. "Steve?"

"Yeah?" There was a tremble in his voice.

"Why are you so nervous?" She spoke in a soft voice, to not edge him on more.

"DumbDog is here. I'm meeting him for the first time," He let out a small breath. "I just don't want to mess up my first time meeting my boyfriend."

"Oh, I understand that. But Steve you know what?" She watched as he shook his head. "He is not going to think anything bad about seeing you for the first time. Even if you fall and bust your face open. He is going to think about nothing but how he is finally with you."

Steve relaxed a little at the words. Janet had a point. He looked at her and he saw nothing but sincerity. That meant a lot to him. He often teased her a lot, it was all in good fun. They both knew that but sometimes he worried that his teasing would make her not like him. This helped clear that up. He nodded and he unbuckled.

He got out of the car as the front door opened. Hafu came out first running to say hi to Janet and then out came DumbDog. It was like his heart stopped. This was so surreal. He couldn't help himself. Before he even knew it he had ran into the taller male's arms. He was embraced with a warm protective hug. He never wanted it to end.

Steve was on autopilot until he realized that he had pulled up into the airport. His heart dropped. His time with his boyfriend was over. He wanted to cry. He looked over at the male and he stayed silent. As if it would save him from having to say goodbye. Dumbdog cupped his cheek and rubbed his thumb in small circles.

"We will meet up again soon baby." The words didn't make him feel better.

"I don't want you to go." He wanted to keep the other from leaving. He didn't want to be separated. He didn't want to be pulled apart again.

Janet and Kimi watched the two. It was clear that neither one of the men wanted to separate. Janet could see the same vulnerability she saw their first day in Vagas. She hated seeing him so vulnerable. He was usually so carefree and confident.

She didn't say anything for a bit, it was their moment. She would ruin it.  She watched the two as tears filled their eyes. It was so real now. Sure they had seen the couple together but this was something different. She glanced at Kimi and she saw a look of concern.

"I don't want to leave either. I have to go though." DumbDog placed a soft kiss on Steve's lips. "I love you."

"I love you too."

The older male watched as his boyfriend got out of the car. He wanted to pretend this wasn't happening. It was. He watched as the other male walked into the airport. That was when the tears fell. He simply had no choice but to drive away. He started his journey back to LA with Janet and Kimi.

A/N: I got my second covid vaccine yesterday. I'm super tired, my arm is sore, I got a nasty headache, and I can barely concentrate. I hope this oneshot was what you wanted. I wanted to make it so the flashbacks were more meaningful than just a complete fluff of memories. I think doing a oneshot where DumbDog had to get on a plane and leave Steve would do that.
