It started way before they were dating. It was to a lower degree but it was there. Everyone knew of their feelings before they did. It is not like they hid them well. The two were practically inseparable, always together. When they weren't, they always ended up talking about each other. It got a little annoying to the others.
Steve walked into the living room, yawning. He was exhausted, he had stayed up late talking to Cib. He trudged to the couch and he let himself flop face down onto it. His eyes were fluttering shut, sleep was calling him. He heard the front door open and footsteps entering the house. He figured one of the others had gone out for a bit. He didn't even bother looking. There was the sound of footsteps approaching down the stairs.
"Good morning!" It was Hafu. She was such a morning person. It was annoying sometimes. Steve wasn't a morning person but he wasn't not a morning person.
He ignored the conversation and was allowing himself to drift off to sleep when he felt a soft hand on his back. He simply buried his face into the couch cushions.
"Hey, Honey," Steve gave a small groan to the sweet voice. "Open your eyes and look what I brought you."
The older male obeyed and he turned his head to Ellum and he opened his eyes. He saw his boyfriend kneeling infront of him with a Starbucks coffee. He couldn't help the smile that crossed his face. He slowly sat up and he rubbed his tired eyes.
"Thanks baby." He muttered as he accepted the drink. He took a sip of the hot liquid and he hummed in delight.
Ellum smiled and he sat beside Steve wrapping an arm around the shorter male. They could stay like this forever. It was just perfect. Steve leaned into Ellum happily. One of the best things about Ellum was how generous he was. There was nothing he would change about him.
"Good morning Hafu! Goodmorning lovebirds!" Janet called as she entered the room.
"Goodmorning Janet." Hafu replied with a smile. "Steve have you let the dogs out yet?"
Steve shook his head at the question. "I woke up and then laid on the couch."
Hafu nodded before calling for the dogs. They all had moved in bringing their pets, four dogs and four cats. They all agreed to help out with the pets. For the most part they did. Steve being the big dog lover he was took over taking care of the dogs most days. Hafu did her best to spread out the responsibility but it didn't always work.
Steve rested his head on Ellum's shoulder. He wanted to sleep and the body heat radiating from the taller male was not helping. He knew he needed to stay awake but he didn't want to. He would rather be asleep. That is what he did.
Ellum took Steve's coffee when he noticed him dozing off. He didn't want it to spill. He kept a hold on the man. If only the red player kept a decent sleep schedule. Even still he didn't mind holding the shorter male while he slept. He enjoyed it actually. It gave him access to a side of Steve that most didn't see.
"He asleep again?" DumbDog's voice rang out from the stairs, drawing everyone's attention.
"Yeah, he never can keep a decent sleep schedule." Ellum leaned forward and placed the full cup of coffee down on the table. He leaned back and he adjusted Steve, pulling the short male onto his lap. "I think he was on the phone with Cib last night."
Steve woke up right before lunch. He was held in Ellum's arms. He almost didn't want to get up. He was hungry though.
(A/N: I wrote stuff this morning after I finished school. Btw I am officially a senior now. I forgot to hit save before I closed the tab. I lost it all so now I have to rewrite it.)
Steve buried his face into Ellum's neck. He felt the younger man's arms tighten around his waist. He was pulled closer. He knew he was awake. No way he didn't. His assumption was confirmed when Ellum spoke. "Hey Honey?"
Steve let out a hum in response. He didn't show his soft side much. He preferred being seen as strong and carefree. However, when he was with Ellum none of it mattered. He didn't care about what people saw. He only cared about being with Ellum. It opened up the side of him most didn't realize existed. The house had to get used to it, it had scared them the first time it happened.
"Honey, do you want me to order you some more coffee?" Ellum adjusted Steve and he rested a hand on Steve's thigh and the other stroked his arm. "Do you want to eat lunch or go to bed?"
"Coffee please baby." Steve muttered, he rubbed his eyes. He was so tired. He regretted staying up. He always did but he always did it.
"Coffee it is, Honey."
Silence seemed to fill the room. Neither one of them had something to say in the moment. In fact Steve was so close to falling asleep again. He lifted his head up and he looked Ellum in the eyes. "I love you." He muttered.
Ellum smiled and he moved his hand from Steve's arm to cup his cheek. "I love you too." He finished the words off with a kiss.
The older male melted into the kiss. There was no care in the world about who could see them. Everyone in the house knew they were together so it was not like they hadn't kissed before. They pulled away from the kiss and Steve snuggled himself back into Ellum's sides.
"My Honey dew."
