------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riley's pov
I made my way through the woods, to the supposed "Safe Zone."
All I had with me, was my dog, Lucy, two pistols, and the clothes on my body.
My clothes were in shreds. I took my shirt off and threw it on the cold, hard, green grass, and continued to walk in the direction I was told to go.
We walked through the green, leafy forest, that was draped with vines and shaded by trees.
Lucy stopped.
She got down. Ready to bark. But instead, bore her teeth and snarled,
"Riley we can't go this way. Too dangerous."
She got up and jumped up on her hind legs and put her front legs back on the ground.
"Well we have to go this way, Lucy," I said, "Do you have your wipe-out collar?"*
She turned to the side and looked up. Showing the collar.
"Good girl." I said, smiling. I excitedly pet her on the head, "Let's go!"
"DID YOU NOT HEAR A WORD I JUST SAID?!" Lucy barked at me.
"Yeah. I heard you. But the wipe-out collar will be good protection. That's why I said 'Let's go'" I said, grinning wildly.
"Are you trying to kill us?"
"Nope. What is so dangerous? Can you pick up the scent?"
Lucy walked about 2 yards in front of me, and smelled a patch of grass. She gave a disgusted look, and dug at it.
"It's not the time for digging, Lucy!"
"Humans." Lucy snarled as she stopped digging and turned around and strutted in front of me.
I turned around, to see a girl, with long, blonde flowing hair, squatting on the forest floor, petting Lucy and cooing at her.
"You're such a pretty dog!" She said, kissing Lucy's nose, then she stood up.
As soon as she stood up, I realized she wasn't that tall, her hair was almost down to her knee, she had a belt with two swords on them, a choker around her neck, sparkly blue eyes, and she couldn't be more than 16 years old.
She was wearing a crop top with "Pierce The Veil" written in curvy letters, showing her baby blue belly button ring, and was wearing high waisted shorts.
She realized I was there.
"She isn't a bad person. I know her. She would give me food and shelter when it would be raining really hard. You didn't know me back then though." Lucy said.
"I'm not a bad person. I'm just here to help. Come on out guys!" She said, and two teenage boys popped out from behind the trees.
"Wait, you can understand Lucy?" I asked, shocked that she could understand her too.
