Chapter 2: Clayton

Even though there is a dress code and a strict badge policy for all of the people in the safe zones, Clayton doesn't follow them. Clayton's family didn't make it out of the city in time to find the safe zone, and got eaten by crawlers. Clayton ended up meeting Allysun in the forest, when he mistook her for a zombie and shot her in the side below her ribs. Along the way to the safe zone while Clayton took care of Allysun during the start of the apocalypse they found out that they actually like each other. Clayton puts himself in harms way along with Saylor and Kyle to try to protect Allysun when they venture out into the unprotected zones.
Clayton and Allysun are very good friends. Along with others in combat, he is more compatible when paired up with Kyle or Saylor.

A/N: This is the part when Clayton and Allysun meet.

I was around the age of 14 at the time... I didn't protect my family as much as I should have....

I ran from the house I was born and raised in, only looking back twice to see my parents getting eaten by a type of zombie called a crawler. At the time I didn't know this but now I do. As I heard the moans and groans of the zombies and the ear piercing screams of my parents telling me to run away and find shelter, I hit my face on loose tree limbs and got cuts and scrapes from the pointy shrubbery I was running past.

After a good amount of running into the dense woods, where there were big full oak trees and fruits growing on aged shrubbery, I heard some crunching of some dead leaves and shot towards the direction I heard it. I ran over near the spot and found out I had shot a girl. The girl was huddled in a ball, holding her side.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't realize you were a real person!" I said, realizing I had tears flowing down my face, and my voice cracking. The girl looked at me with silent tears hitting the ground and she gave me a look that made me feel like she was staring into my soul.

"Get my bandages out of my pack! Quickly now!" The girl said, turning to lay on her stomach to make her black backpack accessible to get out the bandages.

"What is your name?" I asked frantically trying to get the bandages out of her backpack. I noticed that the girl was already collecting a good amount of blood in her hands As she held her hand out over the wound to catch the blood.

"It's okay. My name isn't important right now." The girl said nervously. I handed the girl the bandages and she took them angrily, I took this as a sign to not upset her. I noticed she was wearing a badge and I pointed it out.

"You are wearing a badge," I read the badge, "Allysun, eh? Well what can I do to repay you, Allysun?" I said as I rested my arm on the hard, cold ground, leaning in towards her.

"Kiss me, Clayton." Allysun said as she raised her bloody hand to her mouth.

"Um... Wait how did you-..." I said, But I got interrupted by a coppery, fruity, sweet, bloody kiss from the mysterious girl named Allysun. She stuck her tongue into my mouth and blood came into mouth and tasted like candy. I kept the blood in my mouth for most of the kiss until Allysun forcefully made me swallow it.

"Woa! Why did you do that?" I managed to choke out through the fruity taste in my mouth.

"I just got a booster shot that makes my blood and scent smell of fruits, since zombies don't like them, and keep them from wanting to eat me." Allysun said, smirking. Then I realized why she was smirking.... She put me under hypnotic suggestion... I could tell because I felt my eyes being dilated... Even though was still left partially speechless from the but something was making me move towards her and want to kiss her again. I heard her say something but I couldn't tell what she said...

"Now, why don't you be a good boy and carry me to the safe zone, since I can't walk because you pulled a gun on me, and shot me. The zone is 3 miles from here." She said in a smooth, calming voice into my ear and then she softy bit it.

"Okay." I said, not even realizing what I was doing as I picked her up gently and we started to walk.

After walking the 3 mile walk, I arrived to the safe zone with Allysun asleep in my arms. Even though Allysun didn't tell me the way but I figured it out on my own.

Ever since I came to this safe zone with Allysun, I have felt more at home around her and my friends than I did at home.
