"Cole?" I asked taking a deep breath, carefully grasping the phone, glancing at the screen as a hit call on Chad's contact.

"Yeah-" Cole started, being cut off the the ringing of the phone I'm his pocket.

He declined the call immediately.

"What are you doing here Anna?" Cold asked, trying to sound casual. "I was going to ask you the same thing" I smiled, "but, I was hoping to talk to Trey".

"Don't you think it's a little late? Maybe you should call it a night" Cole suggested, as more of a statement. I stood, leaving Trey's phone behind, sliding between the pair before looking back, "Trey, meet me outside".

I stepped onto the porch moments later, Trey coming behind me. "What the hell!?" He asked angrily, holding up his phone. "Trey" I started, as he moved toward me.

"You knew this whole time. I, on the other hand, was needing proof" I spoke more loudly.

"Yeah. You got it. But you there me under the bus" Trey replied, more sensitively, "why are you still backing him up?" I asked, "you don't have to".

"He a cop. Anna" Trey, lowered his voice, glancing toward the house, "the second I go to the police station, he'll make up a new story and ill be the one sitting in a jail-sell".

"I better go" I said under my breath, "let me drive you home!" Trey's voice stopped me, as I turned away from him."I'll be fine" I smiled, "but let me know if you change your mind about Cole".

I left Trey's house, my mind distracted about the situation the whole was to the guys house. "Your kidding" Crawford laughed, with anger hidden behind it the second I was lied in the door. "What?" I asked, in a lighter tone.

"Chris went to get you" Crawford replied, "he said something about a phone call".

My mouth dropped open immediately. "Stop him!" I panicked, calling his phone. "Anna?" Chris answered the phone, "Im outside of Treys".

"Chris, leave now. Before anyone see's you" I spoke sternly, "now!" I repeated myself after the silent response, the line then was hung up.

"What happened?" Crawford asked, entering the room once again, "detective archer. He was there. I- he- he killed Chad. And shot my dad too" I let out, stumbling on my words. Crawford remained silent for several moments.

"I'm so sorry Anna," Crawford finished. "Thanks" I simply replied, forcing a smile. "Cole- detective Archer. He has keys to my house, I think he got them when he was 'called' to report on my dad's shooting".

Crawford took a deep breath, unsure of how to respond. "I'll try and convince Trey to help me. But, if not, I better have a plan B" I spoke to Crawford as Brent entered the room. "I've gotta go. I need to know Chris is okay" I led myself out.

I reached the driveway, Chris' car being pulled in seconds later. The moment Chris stepped out, I entangled him in a hug.

"What happened?" I asked, worried. "Nothing. Everything's fine." Chris stated, more tense than usual. He then took a moment before rushing into the house, I followed seconds later. Finding Chris, Brent, Crawford, and Cam, talking quietly in the living room.

Chris then handed Cam and envelope, and I cleared my throat to let them know I was there. "Take care of her" Cam spoke quietly, to Chris, as they all turned to face me. "Don't worry" Chris shyly smiled back at him.

"C'mon Anna, let's go" Chris cam toward me, bringing his arm behind my back. "What are we doing?" I asked as I followed Chris to his car, "we need to leave" Chris replied, as more of a suggestion.

"I can't" I spoke firmly, "I can't just leave". Chris came toward me, grabbing onto both of my hands, "we won't be gone for long" he smiled, "just enough time to be safe".

"Safe?" I questioned, "I haven't been safe this whole time, and what makes you think going somewhere will change that? Chris, what really happened when you got to Trey's?" I spoke getting in the passenger side of his car.

Cam's POV:

After Chris and Anna left, another knock in the door came about 15 minutes later. "Who is it?" Brent shouted, jogging to the door behind me. Another knock on the door came seconds before I opened it.

"Do I know you?" I asked bluntly at the man in front of me. "I'm looking for Anna Beige, I'm the detective in charge of Her friend Chad's ongoing investigation" he spoke, pulling a badge from his pocket.

I hesitated before replying, "Um-Anna doesn't live here".

"Well I must be mistaken, maybe this is Chris' house. Her- " the man paused, "well what is he to her?". "That's between them" I shot back immediately, seconds later the detective taking a step inside.

Then detective looked around curiously, tossing his hand through a basket of keys. "You can't touch those" I once again glared toward him, "not without a search warrant" I finished. "Well suppose, I'm just here as a friend" he smiled toward me, "what can you tell me?".

"About what?" Crawford spoke up, before the detective giving his reply, "who do you think killed Chad?".

Anna's POV:
Chris pulled up to a small motel, slight arguing on being here, we made it to our room. "How long are we supposed to stay here?" I asked, reading a note on the side bed table.

I could feel Chris' presents behind me as he spoke, "I told you that already" he smiled as I slowly turned around. Facing Chris, he held my sides, roughly pushing me against the wall. As we engaged in an intimate kiss, I wrapped my arms around his neck.

The noise of the phone from the room ringing startled us both, but not pulling away completely. "Just ignore it" Chris smiled, pulling back to me, pulling my sides tighter toward him.

As he moved us toward the bed, my legs hit the side of the mattress, "Chris" I pulled away, "yeah" he removed, simply. "I'm going to hate myself for asking this" I spoke my eyes trailing away from him, "how did you know Chad was after me?".
