After saying their goodbyes and exchanging brief yet warm hugs, everyone went to their respective homes. Ashlyn still decided to walk around outside with Lewis.
The girl smiled as she felt her boyfriend held her hand tightly while they walked.
"Sooo are we going anywhere Ashlyn?"
"Ouiii I want us to relax for a bit in the park near. Father doesn't come home till 5pm so it'll be perfect!" She scrunched her nose, smiling at him.
Lewis couldn't help but squeeze her hand as he was melting inside. She was so adorably cute.
After five short minutes walking, they finally were surrounded by nature. Ashlyn ran to a cozy spot near a tree, and sat there patting the grass and looking at her partner, smiling brightly.
Her boyfriend sat besides her hugging his love. "Finally a place for us eh. I love you so much"
"I love you too, gatito. Let's rest here for a bit." She closed her eyes and Lewis kissed her head.
It was a nice warm summer day, and it wasn't very hot as previous years. Birds flew around everywhere. Ashlyn raised her hand to her love's hair, softly caressing his dark black waves.
"I won't be able to go back there now. You're my home Ashlyn." The girl smiled.
"Let's elope then? As you always said" She giggled. "But nah. I didn't finish my studies yet. We can meet more often tho now. I can go there now and visit you!"
"Oui. Aren't we going to meet your parents soon too, bugaboo?"
She smiled softly. "I don't know Lewis...""Come on! Someone's gotta ask for your hand and it's going to be your kitty, of course"
"My handsome lion king, nevertheless" She scrunched her nose, smiling at him.
Lewis was staring at her, mesmerized. Her beautiful smile. Her golden hair and colourful eyes, shining in the sun. Her energy. Her mere presence was just... So right. Peaceful. Loving. Calming. Kind. Anything he ever dreamt of before. "DEAR GOD I love her so much. If only we could just-"
He couldn't finish hearing the thoughts in his head as he noticed her soft lips meeting his for a very short kiss. She quickly pulled away.
"Okay, Ashlyn what in the hell was THAT?? Come on, you know you're impulsive but PLEASE!!"
Lewis noticed as his girl was trying so hard to hide the growing blushing tone on her face. She smiled nervously "S-sorry I just- I thought-"
He didn't want to wait any longer now. "Can I?" He thought he noticed her eyes brightening up for a second. She slowly nodded.
Lewis softly cupped her face as their lips met for a second time. Ashlyn noticed a wave of butterflies flying through her stomach, and a sense of warmth suddenly surrounding her completely, almost instantly. She couldn't even imagine how often she daydreamed about this almost every day, and it was finally happening.
Ashlyn felt her heart pounding in her chest, her knees getting weaker. She could only focus on how soft he felt against her mouth, how addictively he invaded all her senses. All that overthinking was slowly fading away, her mind drawing blank now. She felt her kitty placing his hands around her waist, pulling her closer to him. Ashlyn then gently wrapped her arms around his neck.
Like a drug, they were intoxicated. Obsessed with each other, they couldn't pull away. They both found home in each other. A place of belonging, which was already known from the beginning of the friendship, and then relationship online, but it was even clearer now.
Lewis tilted his head to deepen the kiss. He felt as if every single part of his body suddenly awoke at her touches, as if she was breathing pure energy into his meaningless existence which he was trapped in once before. Ashlyn touched his hair softly as they kissed, and for the love of God, how he LOVED it. The more he spent time with her, online or now, face to face with her, the more he realised he loved her even more. Dearly. Ardently.
Eventually, they had to break apart for air. Lewis looked at her in the eyes, softly caressing her cheeks, afraid this dream would end. But she was there. She wasn't leaving. She loved him.
"My life, my world."
Ashlyn smiled blushing a little bit, and kissed his nose. He hugged her tightly, never letting her go. "Let's see other places!" she said as she stood up, lowering her arm so he would take her hand.
*******
A couple of minutes later, the young couple were already at the city center.
