Chapter 6: Meanwhile in Crescent Kingdom...

"Awww aren't they adorable!" The queen said. "Moooom we're 15!" Roman said. "You need to stop babying us!!" Remus added. "Yes I know I need to stop but you know-" The queen was interrupted by her sons. "Yeah yeah, you never got to do this with your first kid that died and blah blah blah! We don't care, we don't give two shits!" They both said in unison. "How dare you talk to your mother like that! Go to your room!" The king's voice boomed through the castle. "Oh shit, sorry father!" They, once again, said in unison. They were walking up the stairs to their room (they share a room cuz why not) "Wanna sneak to the next kingdom over?" Remus whispered to Roman. "What? No! We'd get in so much trouble, we'd probably get our heads cuts off or something.." Roman whispered back. "If. If we get caught." Remus whispered back confidently. "If...if is good." Remus got Roman to agree. They got up the stairs and packed whatever they'd need to go through the woods to go to the next kingdom. "Remus, why are you putting a mace in the bag?" Roman asked. "Defence!" Remus quickly said while grabbing something else to put in the bag. "Yeah... we might run into danger, Ruffians! Mom warns us about those." Roman shuddered even thinking about them. "Oh come on Roman! 'Ruffians' aren't real, mom just tells us they are to scare us." Remus reassures the younger twin. "You don't know that! You've never been outside the castle wall before! And mom warns us for a reason, the outside world is scary.." Roman said slightly scared of what they might find outside the castle walls. "Look,I'll protect you if there ARE any 'ruffians'." Remus said mainly to shut Roman up, but he still meant it. "We need medical supplies!" Roman quickly stated before getting up to get it. "Why?" Remus asked out of curiosity. "Poison Ivy." Roman stated. "Poison Ivy isn't even that common." Remus said. "How would YOU know?" Roman said coming back from getting medical supplies. "I may, OR MAY NOT have snuckouttothewoodsacoupleoftimes." Remus quickly said. "Shhhhhhh mom will hear you!" Roman warned Remus. "No she won't! She's probably on the other side of the castle." Remus said dismissing Roman's warning. After they gathered everything they needed they waited til around midnight.
——time skip to midnight——
"Come on Remus. Hurry!" Roman whispered while sneaking into the dark forest. The trees loomed over Roman's head. "The....the woods are just...trees, the..trees.....a-are just wood, n-no reason to....fret, as no..one should." Roman. Is. Petrified. Remus came over with a basket of bread for them to eat. "Too afraid to ask it, but do you have a basket?" Remus. Is. Not. They begin their journey to the next kingdom. They heard a thump and laughter. They both hide in some bushes nearby. "You didn't have to push me you bitch!" Virgil said jokingly. Remy helped him up, apologizing in a sarcastic tone. "Wh-who's there..?" Roman got up slowly from the bush & unsheathed his sword for protection, Remus grabbed his mace following Roman. "Did you say something?" Remy asked Virgil. "No, why?" Virgil was confused. "I could've sworn I heard someone say something." Remy looked around and saw the reflection of the unsheathed sword in the moonlight behind a tree. "Is the mud getting to you bro bro?" Virgil asked not seeing the sword, facing away from it. Remy didn't say anything as he got in front of Virgil and took out his dagger, not seeing the blade anymore he grabbed Virgil and walked away slowly, slowly picking up the pace and running to a cave with vines covering the entrance, almost like a door. "What the hell is happening?" Virgil whispered. "I-I saw the blade of a sword in the distance behind the tree behind you." Once Remy said that Virgil got his bow and arrow ready in case he needed to attack. Remy saw the cave and signaled to go in there until they left. They hid in the cave finding a whole new area behind it. With Roman & Remus on the other hand, Roman put away his sword and decided to investigate more. He found recent foot prints! "Remus! You need to take a look at this!" (cliche) Remus walked over there. "Let's follow them!" Remus started walking but was stopped by Roman. "What if they were ruffians?" Roman asked, it was painfully obvious that the adrenaline rush he got from a few minutes ago faded quickly. "I can ASSURE YOU there are NO 'RUFFIANS'!!!" Remus shook Roman a bit to get it in his head. "But-" Roman tries to continue but Remus interrupts. "NO ASSES!!!" Remus yelled, shaking Roman harder than before. "Hey that's MY line! Only I can say that you bitch!" Remy whisper-yelled. "SH! Did you hear something?" Roman looked around, clutching his sword, anxious that "ruffians" were going to attack them any second. "We're gonna be fine.. I hope, either way let's follow these prints!" Remus continued to follow the footprints. "AW COME ON!!" Remus yelled after being led to nowhere. "Where did they go?!" Roman asked extremely confused "i don't fucking know this leads to. Nowhere!!" Remus exclaimed. "What how?! We saw them go in there!!" Roman exclaimed super confused. "I don't fucking know!!" Remus replied obviously frustrated. "Lets just keep going, we're almost there." Roman said waiting for Remus "fine..." Remus sighed and continued walking with roman
——at crofters kingdom——
"We're here!" Roman exclaimed excitedly looking at the kingdom with stars in his eyes. "C'mon Remus! We have to look around!!" Roman said like a kid on christmas morning. "Okay okay I'm coming!" Remus said following Roman who was running around. "Roman! Wait! We're gonna get recognized and lost, this kingdom is much larger than ours." Remus said, soon getting distracted by someone calling the names "Virgil" and "remy" Remus walked over to the man. "Describe them again please?" Remus asked "well Virgil is super pale and has black hair and Remy is tanner and has brown hair and they're both wearing cloaks have you seen them?" Janus says. "Yeah! They were out in the woods! My brother probably heard them and he took out his sword and things but they just walked away, then we followed they're footprints but those led to nowhere....... Wooaah you're scales are so cool!" Remus said, hoping to help. "Thanks for helping and for the compliment!" Janus said then ran off. "Now where the fuck is roman..." Remus said to himself while looking for Roman. Remus ran to find Roman, Janus ran to the woods as fast as he could, he found where they were, when he realized that this was really close to the neighboring kingdom. "Crescent Kingdom.." Janus said aloud to himself. The kingdom was made a few years prior to the current events. "Why were they going to the crescent kingdom?" He asked himself. Janus continued walking until he found the foot prints. He followed them "Virgil? Remy?" Janus called out. "Janus?! Oh thank god we've been stuck here forever and have no fucking clue how to get out." Virgil exclaimed, glad to see his friend. "Where's remy?" The mage(?) asked "he's trying to climb that tall ass tower." Virgil said, pointing at a tower with no stairs or ladders to climb up. "How is he gonna climb that thing?" Janus asked "no clue-" Virgil said getting cut off by remy "HEY GUYS I MADE IT UP!!!!" Remy yelled from the Top of the tower holding two of Virgil's arrows. "That bitch stole my arrows!" Virgil said running over to the tower and climbing up. By the time Virgil got up, Remy was looking around and found a closet, a bedroom, a few books and a cooking area that's clearly been used recently. "Do you think someone lives here?" Remy asked. Then they saw a tile open like a trap door almost, they saw a little girl that looked almost 12. "Wh-who are you!?" The little girl pulled out a pan and pointed it at them. "Little girl... calm down?" Remy said almost as if asking a question. Remy slowly walked closer to the little girl, then WHAM!! He got hit with a pan and is now knocked out. "HOLY SHIT!!!" Virgil yelled as he put his hands up in surrender. "Darling did you get the-" A woman came down the stairs holding a bowl of fruits, Virgil heard the bowl smash on the ground as the woman was frozen in shock. She quickly escaped that shock as she ran in front of HER child, pulled out a dagger from her cloak and pointed it at Virgil's throat. "What are you doing here?" The woman's voice was cold and sent chills down his spine, or it's just THE DAGGER POINTED AT HIS THROAT, aiming for the kill. "Are you two ok in there!" Janus called from the bottom of the tower. "There's more?" The little girl asked, sounding less scared, and more intrigued. The woman kneeled down and whispered to the little girl. "Listen Cassandra, I need you to leave the tower, I know this is- oh.. she's leaving, good." The woman stood back up only to see the 2 men were gone. Virgil met Janus at the bottom of the tower holding a passed out Remy "what the fuck happened?!" Janus asked, extremely confused, Virgil quickly explained what happened. "Describe the woman." Janus said "Well she had black curly hair, had a red cloak." Virgil went on to describe what she looked like. Janus looked confused,then angry, then upset. Then his expression was unreadable. Meanwhile, Cassandra ran down the hidden stairs in the tower. Sometimes she wonders why they're hidden, but she got her answer to that question today. She made it to the bottom of the stairs, & opened the door. She saw the 3 men at the bottom, the emo holding the one knocked out, & one with scales. She gripped her pan tightly as she walked out fully, she made sure she was hidden, yet kept her guard just in case there was anyone else here. She crept closer to them but made sure not to make a sound. 'Mother told me the dangers of the world, but none of them included men with scales, an emo, and a dude with a leather jacket and shaded glasses. One thing I do know is that mother did warn me about ruffians, & snakes. Also thugs! Don't forget about thugs Cas.' Cassandra thought to herself as she watched them. 'These people don't look like any of those, other than the scales.' Cassandra thought once more, eventually getting lost in them. "What the hell are you looking at?" Janus said looking directly at Cassandra. Cassandra stands up and points her pan at them. Cassandra steps out of the bushes, slowly. "You do NOT get to point a fucking pan at me when your the one who knocked out my best friends brother when he didn't do shit to you!" Janus said, raising his voice a bit. Cassandra flinched & backed away a bit out of fear that he might hurt her...

...like her father.
