Chapter One

You know the feeling where everything feels numb, everything happening around you is just a blurr and your heart it feels like someone is continuously stabbing it, yes that feeling. This is what I have been feeling since last few months but today I will start my new life in Cartersville with my cousin Kelly.

Kelly and I were pretty close when we were kids. But as we grew up, our parents rarely visited each other. So we grew apart and I don't even know if she's happy with me staying with her and her mother.

She is same age as me so I will be attending my senior year with her. I just hope that we can become good friends like we were in childhood.

My parents told everything to my aunt about my past life and how it has affected me. Honestly, I am just worried that how will she treat me, I don't want to be treated with sympathy or looked upon with pity. I just want to be treated like a normal teenager.

My plane landed on time and looked out at Cartersville, my new home. "I just hope that you won't disappoint me Cartesville", I said to the beautiful town in front of me.

When I got out of the airport I searched for my aunt but to no avail. Then suddenly I saw a young girl waving towards me and thats when I realized that was my cousin Kelly.

As soon as I reached her she engulfed me into a tight hug. I was taken aback as it was totally not what I expected. I never imagined that I will be welcomed with such warmth.

Realizing that she was the only one hugging me, I immediately hugged her back and oh boyy that felt good. It felt like some positive energy is transferred to me. New life welcoming me.

"Welcome! Stells", she beamed with pleasure.

"Thanks, Kell! How are you? And where's aunt Katie", I asked

"I'm hot as ever, which obviously you can tell. Mom had to attend some urgent meeting, so instead she asked your coolest cousin to pick you up"

She was sassy as always. And she looked so good in her simple yet elegant outfit, a white crop top and shorts. She was pretty since childhood with her blonde hair and blue eyes complementing her. She was taller than me and had a body that screamed perfect from every angle.

"Hey, Earth to Stella!", she waved in front of me

"Sorry, I zoned out", I apologized to her.

"That's fine. Now let's go. I already have the day planed for you", she said to me with so much excitement.

After helping me fix my luggage in her car, she started driving and that's when I asked her,  "What plans? I thought that school starts next week. Am I wrong?"

"No honey. You're absolutely correct. School starts next week. But until then I'll show you your new home Cartersville. And most important thing. We need to go shopping for our senior year.", she told me and flipped her hair dramatically.

"But I think that I should use this one week to prepare myself for school", I tried to convince her because I just wanted this week to prepare myself to handle new school and old memories.

"No way!! I am not letting you waste your week before school like this. I make the rules here. And yes, there's a Back-to-school party on Friday. I am going and so you are. End of discussion", she declared.

"Party. I don't really like going to parties. You should go without me." No way I am going to a high school party. The only party I attended was because Alex forced me into going and I was bored as hell. Parties are not really my thing. Instead I would love to stay back home and enjoy reading my favourite books.

When we stopped at a traffic signal she turned to me and gave me the most convincing puppy eyes. "Please Stells. Don't say no. I promise that you will have fun. I was so excited to go to this party with you. Please. " she begged.

This girl is good. She knows how to convince people using her charms.

But whatever it is. I can't break her heart on my first day here. So I told her that , " Okay. I'll think about it".

"Now that's like my girl", she said happily.

I just hope that I could convince her to let me stay back.
