୭̥⋆*。

26 YEARS had passed since i found out i was stuck at this stupid ass ghost club with my lunatic of a father, caleb covington. 26 years and i still had no idea why i was here. it didn't make any sense. i did the same shit i do now as i did once upon a time when i was living. in short, i was furious. i was angry. and i was certainly confused.

"cas, i need you to wipe down those tables and then you're home free."

turning to my side i saw my dad, giving me more orders than i originally signed up for. that's all i did here. clean the place and then sleep. i had been here fucking around longer than i had actually been alive in the first place. nothing made sense.

"i need the place spotless for tomorrow. willie is bringing me three fresh 17 year olds that can play music. i need them for my band especially because they can be seen when they play."

now that made my head turn a little.

"and they're ghosts? who can be seen while playing music?" i questioned.

"you got that right."

slowing my pace while wiping down the tables, i spoke, "you're not gonna," i paused, "stamp them, are you?"

i twisted my head to the left to meet my fathers eyes, and they glowed that poisoning shade of purple. i took that as a yes.

"you promised you wouldn't do that anymore-" i began to protest but didn't get far.

"cassidy, the ghost life is one big game. you just have to know how to play it properly."

he began to laugh and within an instant, he was gone.

and you know what? so would i.

i set down the cloths i was using to wipe down the tables and poofed out of the club and right to where i knew willie would be.

seconds later i was at the skate park, and although my vision was a bit fuzzy, i could see willie riding up and down the half pipe, the moon glowing down on him.

"will!"

that sure caught him off guard. he fell right off his board and slid down the half pipe, his board zooming past him back and forth.

"hey cas," he began as he tried to pull himself up.

"dad says you've got some new ghost friends?" i questioned, a small smile forming.

he raised an eyebrow at me and began, "yeah actually. i just met them a few days ago."

he smiled down at his shoes and i knew something was up. something deeper than just "meeting them a few days ago".

"oh stop right there," i raised a finger and pointed it at him, "do you have a thing for one of these ghosts?"

i very much was smiling now. i enjoyed poking fun at willie. he was the only good friend i had here.

"his name is alex," he started as he kept a lock stare with his shoes, "i think he might be my unfinished business."

my mouth slowly dropped open as i blinked back my first thoughts.

"woah that's a big statement to make, why do you think so?"

"cas i died before i came out or even got the chance to fall for anyone. what if that's it? i'd be willing to take the chance for him. i think he's special."

it was rare to see willie so serious. one happy go lucky skater, now sitting down on this half pipe near tears over a new ghost. had i entered another dimension?

"oh man," i sat down next to him and began to fiddle with his hair, "you could be on to something. just be careful wil. you could cross over anytime, you know."

"i know. but hey! he's got two friends, reggie and luke. i know you're anti ghost relationship but i really really think you'd like luke."

his words washed over me like a freezing wave to the face and i shivered at the thought. i had died while in a relationship. the whole thing kinda made me feel eerie.

"huh. interesting. maybe this time i'll be more open. i'd love to meet them."

he flashed me a smile and pulled me into a tight hug. reluctantly, i hugged back, hoping maybe he was right and maybe this would be something good.

(an: YO ITS BOUTA GET SO GOOD I HAVE SO MANY PLANS ASF, lmk ur thoughts :) peace and love, -a)
