The Dinner

The rest of the day Ariana went under the radar. Though it did prove to be difficult with keeping her brother in check. When she arrived in her dorm room, she noticed her brother's things but didn't see him.

She furrowed her eyebrows but didn't think anything of it. She dropped her bag next to her bed and headed to her closet to pick something out for dinner. She had picked a simple outfit, a nice red shirt with flowers, some black jeans, a nice black jacket, and paired it with converse.

She headed to her bathroom to freshen up a bit.

When she got dressed, leaving her hair down, she headed to her desk which was in front of her window so she could admire the forest that surrounded the school.

She sat down in her chair and started to work on her homework.

She heard a thump behind her.

She turned around, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary and went back to her homework.

It was a good solid ten minutes until she heard something again.

Thump.

It was quiet.

If you weren't paying attention then there was no way you would be able to hear it.

She stops writing and carefully sits the pencil down. She closes her eyes and lets her magic take control, letting it reach out to feel if anything was around. She senses another's presence but one invisible to the naked eye.

It was one of mischief, curiosity, and it felt oddly familiar. The brown hair girl smirked and opened her eyes.

This time her eyes had a tint of red in them.

A tiny red web-like ball appeared between her fingers and she focused on the person's movements. She waited for the right moment for the person to be facing her brother's bed and turned around to let the tiny red ball hit the person.

Sending them flying on the bed and effectively making the person release the spell they had cast. The person groaned out in discomfort after feeling the sharp after-effects of the girl magic had on them.

Ariana raised an eyebrow and looked at the boy that was laying on the bed, "Did you think that you can scare me, brother?"

James just groan and said,
"It was worth a shot."

Ariana scoffed and turned back to her homework,
"I'm going to eat out with friends for dinner."

"That's fine. I was thinking of hanging out with the boys, anyway," he replied with a careless shrug.

Ariana rolled her eyes at the thought of James hanging out with the troublemakers, known as the OutCast.

"Right, I forgot you joined that little cult. Should I give you a ridiculous name like zapper?"

James rolled his eyes and looked disgusted with the name, "First of all don't nickname people you suck at it. Second, it's not a cult. It's more of brotherhood that focuses on fun plus I'm not a member of it. Yet."

She gave him a look when he finished. He just flashed a charming smile with mischief in his eyes. Ariana gave an unimpressed looked and threw an eraser at him.

James caught it and threw it back at her, successfully hitting her on the forehead. James chuckled and she glared at him and was about to say something when her phone went off.

She grabbed her phone and looked to see a bunch of texts from Andrea. She got off her chair and ran over to get her money that was set on her nightstand muttering she is so going to kill me, over and over again.
