There goes that creepy ass voice in my head. There was something about it, something that seemed so familiar...
"Saron, I really hate you," Jeremy said, coughing as he collapsed into the seat beside me.
"I'll take you next time instead of Star," I assured him, laughing.
"Traitor," Star joked, placing her hand to the chest dramatically.
"Not only did you guys ditch us, you ate without us too," Joel pointed out, eying the empty platter.
"Actually, Saron ate," Star corrected.
"Damn, you weren't joking when you said you were starving," Tom said, whistling in amazement.
"That's what three days of not eating does to you."
"Ahem, so where's Zion?" Joel asked, breaking the awkward tension.
"Probably brooding in his room," I said nonchalantly.
Deciding to ignore their watchful eyes waiting for an explanation I wasn't ready to give, I stood up and said, "To make up for ditching you guys, I'll get the food."
"Want help?" Star offered.
"No, stay here. This'll only take a second," I said with a mischievous smile.
I darted across the room, grabbing food and piling it on a platter as fast as I could before zipping back across the Caf and putting it on the table. I went back, doing the same with two more platters before settling down at the table in under a second with a flushed face and a grin on my face.
"You're telling me you could do that this whole time and you've been making us get the food?" Jeremy said, frowning.
"It's called chivalry, Jeremy," Star said between munches.
"Yeah Jer, if you ever want Bonnie to notice you," Joel added.
Jeremy elbowed Joel in the stomach, causing him to spit out the food that was in his mouth which made Tom erupt in laughter.
"Bonnie?" I said incredulously, staring at Jeremy who's cheeks were getting redder every second.
"Yeah, OMG Saron we have to catch you up," Star said, leaning forward in excitement.
I leaned forward as well, eager to hear what I'd missed.
"Bonnie moved up as well. She's a second year and she's in our class. Jeremy is in love with her and we've been trying-"
"I am not in love with her!" He protested.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night Jer. Anyways, he's too shy to admit it so he just stares at her all class long." Star continued.
"We'll have to change that tomorrow then, won't we?" I said, casually.
"No way. You're coming back to class?" Star asked, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
"What's stopping me?"
"Other than a vampire psychopath trying to kill you?" Tom piped in, surprised I was making light of my predicament.
"Believe it or not, I've missed doing normal things like going to class and hanging out with my friends. Being in danger all the time isn't all it's cracked up to be."
"Did you ask the Headmaster about moving up?" Joel asked.
"No. I doubt they'd turn me away though. Isn't everyone still scared of me?"
"You actually have more fans than haters now." Tom commented, nodding over to tables of students grinning like idiots in my direction and waving.
"Really?" I asked arching my eyebrow, "What changed?"
