"I HATE YOU, DEKU!" Bakugou's voice tore through the quiet hall. Deku froze for a moment, his green eyes shimmering with unshed tears. Without another word, he turned away and bolted down the corridor, the unshed tears now streaming down his cheeks.

Bakugou stood with fists clenched at his sides, watching the boy disappear. It wasn't actually hate that fueled his outburst—it was frustration. A frustration that came from feelings he couldn't control, couldn't understand, and certainly couldn't express.

He loved Deku, painfully, with every fiber of his being. But he was convinced that this love could never be returned. And why would it? Not after everything.

The evidences hit him like a freight train.

Flashback

Bakugou leaned against the wall, keeping his presence hidden as he eavesdropped on a conversation. Uraraka's chipper voice carried through the hallway.

"Good Morning, Deku-kun!" she greeted cheerfully.

"Ah! Good Morning, Uraraka-san!" Midoriya responded with his usual awkward enthusiasm.

"I... I have something to ask you," Uraraka clarified, her voice softening. She glanced around nervously before adding, "Privately."

Bakugou's eyes narrowed, and he followed at a distance as the pair stepped into the empty classroom. His heart pounded against his ribcage. What could Uraraka want to talk to Deku about?

"So, what's up, Uraraka-san?" Midoriya asked, tilting his head in curiosity.

Uraraka hesitated, fidgeting with her hands. "Do you... forgive Bakugou for everything he's done to you?"

Bakugou stiffened. He hadn't expected this.

Midoriya blinked, clearly caught off guard. "Huh? Uraraka-san, what made you ask that?"

She bit her lip. "I was just... worried. I want to know everything about you, but if you don't want to answer, it's okay."

Midoriya chuckled. "It's fine. If you really want to know... yes, I forgive Kacchan. He's my friend, after all."

Bakugou's breath hitched.

Uraraka beamed. "Wow, Deku-kun! You're so kind. Not everyone can be so forgiving."

Midoriya scratched his head sheepishly. "Ah, you think so? I'm not sure about that."

Their conversation shifted as they realized the time. "Let's hurry! We're gonna be late!" Uraraka exclaimed, grabbing Midoriya's hand and dashing out of the room.

Bakugou, still hidden, felt a mixture of relief and bitterness. But his relief was short-lived.

Another memory surfaced, this one more devastating.

All Might had come to visit Midoriya at school, privately of course. Bakugou had totally stumbled upon their conversation by chance and decided to stick around.

"Young Midoriya!" All Might greeted, pulling Izuku into a quick hug.

"All Might! How are you?" Midoriya responded, eyes sparkling with admiration.

Their chat seemed innocent enough until All Might's tone turned serious. "Young Midoriya, I must ask. After everything you've been through, do you still see Bakugou as your friend?"

Bakugou's heart leapt into his throat, and he strained to hear Izuku's response.

Midoriya hesitated, his voice barely above a whisper. "Not... not really."

Bakugou felt like the ground had been pulled out from under him. He didn't wait to hear more. He walked away, swallowing the lump in his throat. He didn't see the way Izuku's face turned scarlet or hear his hurried follow-up.

"I—I don't just see him as just a friend!" Midoriya blurted out, stumbling over his words. "I see him as... more than that."

All Might's face lit up with understanding. "Ah, my young successor is in love!" he exclaimed with his trademark grin, pulling Izuku into another hug.

End Flashback

Back in the present, Bakugou sighed, his breath misting in the cool air. "Damn it, Deku," he muttered under his breath. His guilt felt heavier than the storm clouds gathering overhead.

The rain began as a drizzle but quickly turned into a downpour. Bakugou stood in the middle of the empty courtyard, water soaking through his clothes. He knew where Deku had gone. He knew him too well.

"The park," Bakugou muttered to himself, already breaking into a sprint. It was the only place nearby that offered any shelter.

As he ran, his mind raced. He had to find Deku. He had to make this right. But deep down, a fear clawed at his heart—what if it was too late? What if the damage he'd done was irreversible?

Bakugou didn't stop to think. All he could do was run.
