The next day, something strange happened...
I went to my station as usual to put my things away and some people who shared the same area with me, were gossiping about something.
"Did something happen?" I asked them but they denied.
Weird.
"Mrs Lu, where is Namjoon?" I asked as soon as I spotted her in the hallway, "why isn't he in his room?"
"Oh my, you don't want to know what he did last night." She sobbed and I immediately knew something was definitely up.
"Tell me what happened, I need to know." I ordered. She took some time to calm down but finally told me what went down last night.
"Namjoon suddenly banged his head on the wall last night. He was bleeding so much and-" she choked on her own sobs and decided not to continue.
I was shocked. I didn't see that coming. Why would he do that?
"Where is he right now? Is he okay?" I shook her trying to get the answers I needed.
"He's locked in the seclusion room. Don't go now it might be dangerous!" She stopped me before I tried to rush there.
"I need to see him. I'm sure he won't do anything dangerous. Where is the seclusion room?" I asked.
"It's on the third floor. But please be careful. He's not in his right mind." She warned.
I rushed towards the elevator and pressed the third floor, hoping he was okay.
As soon as the doors opened at the third floor, I was met with two guards standing in front of a door and mom pacing back and forth, biting her nails.
"Mom what's wrong?" I asked marching up to her.
"Y/n why are you here?" She looked worried.
"I wanted to check up on Namjoon-"
"You can't! He's going crazy." She exclaimed, cutting off my words.
"Let me see him once. I'm sure he won't do anything!" I pleaded.
"Y/n, you have to promise me to stay away from him okay?" Mom said after a while. "Come with me."
I followed the taller woman as she nervously twisted the key in two full rounds in the keyhole and finally pushed open the door, still very careful. All the while, I stood behind her.
"Leave!" Came a howl from inside. I peeked at the noise and it almost broke my heart to see him like that.
Namjoon was tied up in the straitjacket again. He was kneeling down, bandage around his head, his hair a mess, pale skin and bloodshot eyes. He looked wild.
"Y/n wants to see you. Look, she's here." My mom said in a low voice as she moved aside to reveal me standing stiff. His eyes softened immediately.
"Namjoon.." I hesitated, "what's wrong?" I tried to match the same low voice as mom.
"I said, leave." He repeated.
"Let me help you okay?" I tried walking towards him but mom stopped me by the hand.
"You can't help me. Just leave." He mumbled.
"But-"
"Shut up and fucking leave!" I got startled by the sudden scream.
"Y/n let's leave now." Mom tried dragging me out but I wasn't having it.
"Namjoon!" I scolded back, "stop being a stubborn kid and let me help!"
Everyone froze, including Namjoon. Mom was looking at me, wide-eyed, not expecting any of which was happening.
"Mom leave us alone. He's tied up so he can't hurt me." I said without looking at her.
"I can't leave you alone here with him it's dangerous!"
"Mom." I called assuring her that I was gonna be fine.
"I'll stand outside if you need anything." She hesitated for a while but left the room as asked.
"Tell me now. Why did you do this?" I asked, but this time, with a lot of patience.
"I'll kill you if you don't leave right now." He mumbled while his head hung low again, but this time, there was a sense of longing in his voice.
"You can do that after you tell me what's bothering you. Maybe I can fix it." I said, unsure of my own words.
"You can't fix anything. It's all so messed up. If only I died, everything would have come to an end." He was still mumbling but I noticed that single tear run down his face.
"Dying is not the only solution you know. If you tell me what's up, we could find a way out together." I assured, rubbing the tear off his cheeks. He finally lifted his face and looked me in the eye.
"How can I trust you." He asked.
"You can kill me if I betray you in any way." I said, still wondering where all the confidence was coming from. All I knew was that I would never do something to hurt or betray him. I wanted to help him, and this feeling genuine.
"Fine then." He finally sat up straight and looked ready to tell me. I listened carefully, all of my attention towards him.
"I didn't kill them." He mumbled.
"I know. I trust you." I said, taking his hands in mine.
"You won't trust me if I tell you the truth." He said moving a bit closer, his voice growing smaller and smaller.
"Try me." I said.
"I was framed. They have trapped me here to take something that's mine." He said, lightly touching his forehead on my shoulder.
He was tired.
Of everything.
