"Hey dad?" I walked to the living room to where my dad was. "Can I borrow the car this weekend?"
"Nope."
He never took his eyes off the TV, so I wondered if he actually heard me and didn't just say no because it's the first thing he usually says when I ask him something.
"Why not?" I slumped myself over to one side.
"You just got your licence yesterday." Eyes still on the Colts. "You still don't know how to drive."
To me that actually made no sense. "If I don't know how to drive, then why would they give me my license in the first place? "
"Ugh, Casey!" he finally looked my direction. "The final answer is no. Now can you let me watch the game?"I groaned as a leaned my head back and walked upstairs to my room.
Chances are I'll never get to use the car anytime soon- well as long as my dad is around.

I woke up the next morning to my brother talking loudly on the phone outside my room.
"Axl can you shut up?" I yelled outside my door. Instead of answering, he just kicked the door and left.
"Good morning Mom," I said as soon as I saw her when I walked out of my room. My dad was there too, but instead of greeting him as well, I just walked grabbed an apple and walked away.
"What was that all about?" I heard my mom ask my dad. I stopped to hear what they were saying. "It's nothing," he answered. I rolled my eyes. "I just didn't give her permission to use the car this weekend."
"Well I know she's young, but maybe you should take it into consideration," she said taking my side.
I just heard a mumble and keys jiggling, so my dad was going to work.
I went to go take a shower and got ready for school.
When I got my shoes on, I heard my brother honk the car horn from the driveway. "I'm coming!" I grabbed my backpack and ran out the door.
It didn't even get to walk through the school doors before someone shouted my name. "Casey!" I turned to my left to see Darrin, my boyfriend waving me out. He stepped out of the crowd full on his friends and walked over to me.
"Hey," he said shoving his hands into his pockets.
"Hi," I smiled and started walking down the hall with him.
"I need to talk to you later," he said stepping in front of me this time."OK, what is it about?" I asked.
"You'll see," he winked and turned around.
It took be about 3 seconds before I started walking, and my mind started wondering.
What was he going to talk to me about?

I sat in most of my classes with my head rested on my hand, still thinking about Darrin. He likes to surprise me sometimes, and I never know what to expect... Good or bad.
The next time I saw him was when we went to lunch, and I went straight to him.
"I've been dying to know," I said sitting down. "What were you going to tell me?"
Was he's going to break up with me?
Was he's moving?
What if-"Oh yeah, I almost forgot," he faced me.
"Spring dance it coming up," he put his hand on top of mine. "Would you be my date?"
I let out a sigh of relief. "I thought it was something else."
"What do you mean?" he turned back to the table."Nothing."
When I went home that afternoon, I wanted to get all my homework out of the way early so I could do stuff after. It was Calculus, and I hate calculus. I decided to ask my brother since we have that class together.
I knocked his door and went right in. "Hey Axl," I stood at the door. "Can you help me with the calculus homework?"
He stopped playing his guitar. "Why should I?"
In situations like this, it's key to just be nice to him. "Because I'm your sister," I simply answered.
"Ew," he rolled his eyes. "No, now get out."
Ugh, I can't stand him. I left, and just to make him mad, I left the door open.
"Casey!" I heard behind me.
I giggled as I walked into my room and shut the door.
