Triton was waking up to two people arguing. Still resting against the chest that he had fallen unconscious on.
"Thanatos why in Gaea's canyons did you do that? You just latched that part back on!" an annoyed voice said, telling Triton that this Thanatos was an idiot and it wasn't their first time messing up.
"Well maybe if someone actually made sense for once, we wouldn't have had this problem," said the familiar voice of the angel, apparently his name was Thanatos.
"Oh so this is my fault?"
"Do you see anybody else here genius?"
"There is the merman, or did you just forget about him?"
"Tri doesn't count because he's unconscious."
Triton couldn't help himself, "Try that again." His voice didn't hurt as much now. The feeling had returned in his tails and he felt rested, which was certainly a surprise.
His hearing was definitely top noch because the other man had let loose a high pitched scream. The one whose chest Triton was against froze.
"You're awake?" said the angel- Thanatos.
Triton didn't even want to open his eyes, he didn't have to. "Oh really, I hadn't noticed."
The other man groaned, "Yeah he's definitely awake."
"Are you not the one that was looking him to wake up?" Thanatos questioned.
"I didn't realise he would talk!"
"Its not like he would just sit there while you took the trap off!"
"I'm still here you know," Triton said drawing attention back to himself.
"No shush," said the man who Triton still didn't know the name of.
Triton tilted his head up and opened his eyes to look up at Thanatos. "Angel can you tell the mean man to shut up?"
Thanatos grinned, "Yes Hades, shut up."
Triton froze for a second when he heard the name Hades. Usually the only time he hears that name is when his father is complaining about his older brother.
Hades saw Triton's reaction, "You know of me?"
"I've heard you mentioned a few times."
"All good things I hope."
Triton made a face, trying to think of the best way to tell the Lord of the Underworld that they were very rarely good things. "Depends, do you count being called 'a pale ass vampire, who could blind people with his stick arms' a compliment?"
Triton watched his reaction which was quite funny. Made even funnier by the striking resemblance to his father.
"You are definitely your fathers son and that isn't a good thing," Hades said after a beat.
Triton just grinned at his uncle, choosing to ignore the numbness that was starting to affect his tail again.
He rested his head back down against the angel. Hoping that since his uncle was there that nothing would happen to him. From what he knew Hades and his father were quite close, drawn together by their mutual dislike of their younger brother, Zeus.
Hades was nothing like Zeus. He wasn't brash and didn't need attention 24/7 to survive. Hades was quiet, silently protective and quite judging, however he wouldn't outright say something to someones face unless he was comfortable around them. When Triton had seen him underwater he frequently told Poseidon that he was an idiot, only getting an eyeroll in response.
