Arlo's P.O.V~

Arlo, along with the rest of tables around all lined up to dish out their own food on recyclable plates as well as getting their beverages and took seats at random tables, completely ignoring the class tables arrangement, separating into their respective friend groups, and those who had none simply joined the teachers. The food was delicious. Curry stewed chicken, macaroni pie, baked chicken, baked beans. It was just about the best thing Arlo had ever tasted. Isen was practically stuffing his face, while Remi beckoned with him to slow down a bit, Seraphina engaging with Holden and Elaine in conversation whist Blyke just listened. No one dared to mention who they had just saw, nor even try to comprehend what and why he was here.

Which only got Arlo thinking...

Was John the person she was calling on the phone earlier?

Maybe so, but it's none of his business, so he brushed those thoughts aside, focusing on the meal in front of him, savoring the rich flavors before the plate was soon empty, leaving him still wanting more of the delicious food. He was half tempted to sneak back and go for seconds, but he decided against it, realizing some people might not have gotten yet, so he opted to just wait until later to ask Headmaster Vaughn what restaurant he'd ordered from. This event was big, and undoubtedly costed quite a lot. Blyke, who sat next to him, sighed, although louder than he intended, as his lips parted, and attention was drawn to him.

"Hey Blyke, are you alright?" Remi asked. "You look a bit bummed out right now."  The redhead shook his head. "It's nothing Remi," he said, drinking from his beer can. "I just spaced out for a moment." Seraphina raised her eyebrows. "That's a lie if I ever heard one,' she said, cutting a piece of pie and eating it. Blyke scoffed. "What makes you say that Sera?" he asked her. She put down her fork and finally raised her head from her phone screen.

"A few things," she continued. "It's clear by the look on you're face that you aren't alright, even if you think you're unreadable you can get anything past me, I know you all too well." Holden chuckled. "Yeah, you always act so snappy. You know you can tell us when somethings wrong right?" He sighed, rubbing his hand against his forehead. He looks really stressed. Arlo knew his family life had  become increasingly difficult over the past few months, due to some issues. "Look," he said. "I'm fine, just tired."  Arlo can't lie, he looked tired, really tired.

"Is it about John being here?" Remi asked suddenly. Their table lapsed into silence, chatter and eating continued around them, it was almost as if time stopped, if it did, that would probably be Seraphina's doing.

"That's ridiculous," he said. "Why should I care? He's not here for any of us." Remi shook her head. "That is true, but you seem pretty upset ever since he got here." Arlo ruffled his hair and Blyke spoke once again. "I'm not upset in general, I'm just kind of unnerved by the fact that he has the balls to show up."

"Yeah, I know we all don't like him,"  the blond interrupted. "But what's happened, happened, okay? It is what it is and we can't do about it, and like Seraphina mentioned earlier the best we can do is to not come into contact with him, do all understand me?" The group agreed with his statement, after all, John wasn't important to them. Not to Arlo, Isen, Holden, Remi, none of them
