~The Cardinals~

~Your POV~

I walked up towards the girls dormitory, and see B/n on my bedside table. "Oh, hi B/n." He looked up and saw me. It was visible to see that he brightened up immediately.

I wasn't able to hang out with my bowtruckle that much today. Though I did have him in my pocket during classes and I did feed him during lunch, and Harry fed him at breakfast in the Hospital wing.

"Hey, bud." I greet once again, as I sat down on the bed, and look at him, as he sat on the edge of my bedside table.

I extend my hand and he runs and jumps onto it. He climbs up my hand and then sits himself on the edge of my shoulder. "Let's go get some extra bugs for you."

Even though there is plenty of insects that Harry collected, I didn't feel tired. Despite the Quidditch game, I was mostly worried about Harry.

I needed to do something to get him of my mind, so I thought that getting more insects for B/n would be a good idea.

I went to my wardrobe and grabbed a shirt, with a cozy oversized sweatshirt. I put on some leggings with a lot of fleece and put on hiking boots.

I made sure that B/n was on my shoulder as I walked out of the girls dormitory and down the stairs, and out the Common Room.

I was at the familiar entrance of the Forbidden Forest. It took a while to make sure that none of the professors saw me leave the school building, but I managed.

"Ready B/n?" I asked. It was his first time ever actually going into the Forbidden Forest. Usually he would sit on a tree outside of the Forbidden Forest but this time he's actually going inside.

This time I made sure I brought my wand with me this time. And I trudged into the Forest.

Due to passed times of being in the forest, I have a kinda good layout of the forest. Enough to get back to the castle if I ever needed to.

So there I was, at a tree, with B/n clutching to my oversized sweatshirt and slightly hugging my neck.

I had a jar with me, and my wand out with "Lumos" casted as I looked around for bugs and insects. If I find one, I would place my jar near it and have it climb into the jar, then shake the jar so it falls to the bottom and can't climb out.

Because the jars enchanted to be too slippery for the insects to climb out.

Some of the creatures in the forest know about me. For example, the centaurs. They've known me since first year over the whole Voldemort or Quirrell in the Forbidden Forest fiasco.

But overall, they don't really talk to me, but they don't attack me if they see me here. They would just walk by. So it's kinda neutral.

I would sometimes like to feed the unicorns if I ever have the chance to, by if I have any sweets in my pockets.

I got on high alert when I heard a cardinal call, and then a twig snap.

I whip my head around, heart beating out of my chest. I saw movement out of the corner of my eye, and whip my head towards there too. I felt a cold wind pick up and I raised my wand in defense if anything happened.

I heard B/n whimper, near me. "B/n, get in my sleeve." I order in a whisper. The bowtruckle quickly made his way down to my outstretched hand and into the sleeve.

I saw a red cardinal fly down towards the ground in front of me, and then in front of my eyes, a person appeared.

They had black skin, with curly hair. Not tight curls, but curly. I could see that it was a female. She had an intimating look on her face. She had brown eyes.
