"And you're sure you're feeling all better, miss? You looked terribly ill when I first saw you, and for you to have healed in only five days is quite the feat."

The venture back to your room the previous night had surprisingly gone off without a hitch; you were able to sneak back in through the window without alerting Mikasa -or anyone else still awake at the infirmary- of your presence while with a happy, candy-filled stomach, 'Ok, so maybe it wasn't the smartest choice, but I don't regret it.' you had realised once you settled back into bed that night, 'Not one bit.'

"I'm positive, sir." you beamed up at the doctor, meaning your words wholeheartedly as you spoke them, "I feel as good as new."

Annie hadn't bothered to walk you back all the way either, instead opting to only lead you back to the point where the white picket fence of the infirmary was back in your sight before she headed on her own way back to the training grounds.

In the end, you hadn't minded the fact that she didn't accompany you for the complete voyage, given that not only did it lower the chances of Mikasa becoming upset with you if she were to have found that you snuck out -you could always try your hand at lying to her again and tell her that you just wanted fresh air, seeing as she probably wouldn't have reacted positively to the fact that you went out there with one of the people she directly told you that she disliked- but it also gave Annie more time to catch up on sleep and prepare for whatever gruelling task she and the rest of the 104th Training Regiment would have to complete, as well as lowering her own chances of getting caught out late at night, 'And I would feel awful if she somehow got caught or sick solely because I asked her to visit me- even if she said she rarely gets sick.'

"Well then, since Miss Ackerman hasn't had a recorded fever since she came in, and you, Miss (L/N), have been fine for the past two days or so, I do believe the two of you are free to go if you please."

To say that you weren't curious as to how Annie fared today would be a lie, but it would be an even bigger one -despite your concern- to say that you weren't confident in her mere strength or her abilities to persevere; so, as you had spent the majority of the day finishing your stay at the infirmary, you wasted most of it away snuggling into Mikasa's scarf that was still securely wrapped around your neck, tasting the faint traces of the candy that Annie had given you on your tongue while enjoying Mikasa's company as the both of you killed time together in your cots.

It had only been fifteen minutes or so ago that a nurse had walked into your shared room and informed you that the doctor was coming in to do a check-up and ultimately decide if the both of you could go home -and after a brief look-over of you two and your symptoms, you found yourselves healthy enough to return back to training, even if only one of you had been properly sick.

"Thank you, have a good day." you answered for both you and Mikasa in the waiting room, nodding your head to the doctor who was walking you both to the front exit -the Japanese girl following behind you like a shadow at the opened door as she chose not to say anything besides a small, "Mhm." with an agreeing bow of her head.

  "You too, take care."

The male turned away once he saw that the both of you were now on your way, undoubtedly going off to help other patients while Mikasa held the door open for you with your heavy backpack -from the training that you had to leave halfway through almost a week ago- on her shoulders, her softly closing it behind her once you passed by the frame and you making your way onto the porch, "I can take that," you offered, a gentle, closed eye smile present as you felt the warm rays of the sun touch to your skin properly for the first time in nearly days, "It's not a big deal."
