It didn't take long in your travel for you to hear the faint ripping and pulling of flesh from bone -it was a wet sound, one that was moist with blood and only growing in volume with each metre lost between you and where you could only assume the man-eating beasts were, 'Shit, I have to hurry! Why couldn't I have been stationed over here?!'

Desperation rolled within your stomach, causing for you to use a little more gas than you would've liked as you continued to speed ahead -the wind drifting above and below you in your hurry to reach your destination, only pulling you back slightly in its caution. Your eyes darted to every limb-like tree branch as you watched for the titans that you knew would soon enter your view, knowing fully well that being careful would only benefit everyone, despite the tugging at your heartstrings that begged you to go faster than you knew to be possible.

Turning a corner with a bit of a wider turn than you normally would've used, the titans that had once ran away from you met your vision again -only this time, the scene was an absolute blood bath as they tore apart a skinless titan in the centre, they themselves then being reduced to steaming piles of flesh as membres of the Survey Corps worked on ridding of them. The main thing about the skinless titan, however, was that it was female in appearance, sporting giant blue spheres for eyes and haphazard, misplaced blonde strands that dared to stab the top of her shoulders with their needle-point ends. From your distance, the soldiers looked akin to flies buzzarding a fallen animal of sorts riddled with ginormous, human-like bugs, which you supposed couldn't be further from what was actually happening, aside form the death aspect of it all, 'No, now is not the time to be having these thoughts! What in the name of the Walls is wrong with you?!'

Forcing yourself to halt moving ahead, you latched your wires into a trunk and searched the trees meticulously, trying to take in their every detail and not miss a single thing, or person, that could be hiding within them, 'Think (Y/N), think.' you told yourself, closing your eyes for a second before prying them open again as if to refresh your vision, 'Where was he last time?'

Your eyes then latched onto your left, looking a bit more upwards from the mammoth creature the titans were feasting on as you did your best to ignore them, 'Over here, over-... There!' Without a single moment to spare -and as quickly as you could in the slightest- you then grasped your fingers onto your gear's triggers tightly, feeling blood rush to your fingertips and become slightly trapped as they grew numb around the edges; the man you were looking forwards was ahead of you, standing tall and proud on a branch as he overlooked everything that was taking place before him--you would have to cross above the titans in order to get to him.

'Well, there's no time like the present!'

Flying overhead, you headed straight for the giant horde, not even sparing a second to look below yourself as you ignored them, too focused on getting help than to waste any more of your time, 'They're not even focused on us soldiers anyways, it doesn't matter!' You could see many fighting below you, trying to defend the womanly titan who didn't seem to care if it was eaten alive or not; many soldiers were drenched in disappearing crimson, and heat was rising upwards and radiating strongly underneath you from the growing pile of titan corpses, even collecting on your skin partially as some kind of falsified sweat. Keeping your sight mainly locked on your target, you went through white wisps of hazed smoke as you almost struggled to find a place to latch your 3DMG's hooks onto, 'There he is, Commander Erwin!'

"Erwin!" you cried out, dropping the usual title that accompanied his name in your rush, "Please, Erwin!"

As you neared enough to make out his facial features, you could see that he was heavily focused upon the many battling the titans that were now behind and below you -and truth be told, you couldn't really fault him for that. You did, however, desperately need his attention, and so you screamed out his name one more time -feeling your voice nearly break in the process, "ERWIN!"
