"(Name), you know money's tight, don't fight with me on this!"
My mother just got fired from her job, lasted five years. Her longest one yet, actually.
We've moved at least three times, tomorrow would be the fourth.
We're going back to Roselake, my hometown. The town I grew up in, the town my mother met my father. They divorced, love never lasted for them.
I'm used to the routine by now. Finding jobs is rare for my mom, but she's trying her best.
We're more like roommates, not mother and daughter.
"We always move, and why so sudden? Why tomorrow?"
"The sooner we get there, the sooner I can start making money to support you!"
I sighed, clutching the handle of my suitcase in my left hand, sweat dripping down from the side of my head. Fighting always stressed me out, especially when the fighting involved my mother and father.
I turned 16 recently, I was hoping I'd get to finish high school in our current town, but that of course never happened.
"Right, I'm sorry. Night."
And that was that. I walked off into my bedroom, locked my door, and turned off my lights. I stared outside the window, taking one last look before drifting off to sleep.

It was the next day, we were in the car, on our way to our new apartment in Roselake. I was dreary, but I ignored my tiredness, staring outside the car window.
Hours later, we enter the town of Roselake. It's small, but the buildings are huge. A lot of people know each other, everyone lives compactly.
"Familiar?" My mom asks, stopping at a red light.
We were on the main road, the road that passes through town. I remember all the old shopping places, my heart jumping each time I remember one of the shopping districts.
My 11-year-old self was distraught when we had to leave Roselake, I was homesick for a long time. Still am, kind of.
My old town was dreary compared to Roselake. I didn't make many friends there, we were just all acquaintances. I didn't get attached to anything, I just wanted to focus on my studies to make my mom proud.
She never really acknowledged any of my efforts.
"And we're here!" She exclaimed, pulling into one of the apartment complexes.
It wasn't the fanciest building in the world, but it was good enough. We weren't nearly as rich to buy a regular home, so this would have to do for the timebeing.
"Did you enroll me into my new school already?" I questioned, exiting the car. My legs wobbled after sitting down for 8 hours, I got a little light-headed, but quickly readjusted after a few moments.
"Yeah, you start on Monday. For now, we need to unpack," she directed, handing me a bag of luggage. She went inside to talk with the landlord.
I looked at the sun, it was the afternoon. For some reason, when you're at Roselake, the sun always shines a little brighter.
However, as I went to follow my mom, I saw a flash of red in the glimpse of my eyes.
A figure on a bike, peddling fast. Crimson-red spikey hair and he has this weird smile.
Don't know why, but it felt like I was experiencing a fever dream.
He just seemed a little too familiar.
