Chapter 9

NOTES: Please remember that some characters are Out of Character. I've stated this before but this is just a simple reminder. Also, remember that Pink is Spinel's mother in this story.

Chapter 9

A woman wearing pink was sitting on a sofa. She had beige to near pink skin, magenta eyes pupils, and shoulder-length yet large, fluffy pale pink hair. She also appeared to wear lipstick. She also seemed to be wearing pink diamond earrings. This woman wore a rose-burgundy top which was cropped in the middle to reveal her midriff and belly button piercing, also of a pink diamond with large puffy pink-and-white shoulder pads and rose gloves. She also wore a small pink and white skirt, short puffy rose-pink pants, white stockings and a pair of pink slippers with white pom-poms floating over each of them.

As she sat on the sofa, in front of her was a letter, written to the name of Pink Diamond but it was slightly crunched up...and a nearly empty bottle of tequila rose, in which she was hold a glass with the same substance. The woman was crying and just staring blankly into space...

Spinel entered the room cautiously and slowly...she was only about eight years old here. As she stepped closer, the woman didn't even acknowledge her...and just looked at the near empty bottle. The woman was clearly Spinel's mother and took a sip of her alcoholic drink. Spinel seemed worried and yet confused.

SPINEL: Mommy...? (Her mother didn't respond) Mommy? (The woman seemed to purposely ignore Spinel) Mommy...where's daddy...?

The woman just scoffed at the notion of "daddy" and took another sip of her drink. Spinel knew something was wrong but would rather get the answer from her mother. After a few seconds of awkward silence, the mother answered.

PINK: Daddy...(Sighs)...your daddy has gone away...

SPINEL: (Softy) Why...?

PINK: (Sarcastic laughter) Because...(Pours another drink)...your daddy thinks he's found someone better than me. So...your bastard of a father has gone to live with a whore! That's why!

SPINEL: (Getting a little upset) Will...w-will he come back...?

PINK: Come back...? COME BACK?! (Stands up and chucks the glass against the wall, smashing easily and staining the wall) NO, HE'S NEVER COMING BACK! HE'LL NEVER COME BACK! I DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT CHEATING BASTARD EVER AGAIN!

Spinel flinched and stepped back as soon as the glass smashed, with her mother standing up and shouting at her.

PINK: HE DOESN'T LOVE US ANYMORE! HE DOESN'T LOVE ME AND...(Points at Spinel)...HE DOESN'T LOVE YOU!

Spinel started to sob, as her face scrunched up to let out a cry. Pink saw the error of her ways and quickly felt guilty shouting at her daughter. She gasped and quickly clasped her hands to her mouth.

PINK: Oh my God...(Kneels down to Spinel's level)...oh my God, sweetie...(Spinel was crying at this point) Oh, Spinel...I'm so sorry...I did not mean to shout out you. (Gently embraces Spinel into a hug) I'm sorry, Spinel. You did not deserve that. I'm angry at...him, not you! I can never be angry with you. Never!

Spinel eventually hugged her mother back but still letting out droplet of tears down her cheek, as was her mother.

SPINEL: Is it my fault...?
