"are you scared?" chan asks while slipping his arm around the younger.
"a little" felix puts his both hand on chan's chest.
the human is looking around, astonished by the view. most of the buildings are shining brightly, the people in the kingdom are swimming freely. they all have different tail colours and that's what makes the kingdom even more beautiful.
the couple swims to the castle. the gate is open and as soon as they come inside, a trident flies passes between their head and it impales the gate wall.
"oh shit sorry hyung!"
"kim yugyeom!" another voice is heard by them.
a toddler swims towards them with an apologetic look.
"gyeom, that's very dangerous" chan shakes his head.
"i know, i'm sorry! it's just- jungkook told me to throw far away!"
"hey!" another toddler's voice echoes the front yard. a boy named jungkook comes to them as well.
"how can you blame me like that?"
"well you're the one who challenged me"
"okay okay that's enough" chan separates them by pushing their head to the opposite direction.
"you kids almost hurt the guest"
they both turn their heads to felix and bows to apologise. felix just waves his hands saying it is fine.
"great, now i almost killed the prince's soulmate"
"what?" felix can't help it but question it.
"the necklace is symbolised as our true love. when we give to someone that we believed that person is our soulmate, we give the necklace. also, every necklace only shine to someone that already connected their bond together so it won't shine if other people wear yours."
"did you guys have learnt that in school, jungkook?"
"yup! teacher taught us a few days ago. your soulmate is pretty, hyung! i wish i have a soulmate just like yours!" jungkook exclaims in excitement.
felix is blushing so he let out some cooes to cover up. he bends down and pats the toddler's head and says, "one day you will find your soulmate just like everybody else. everyone has their soulmates. remember, patience is the key"
"okay, pretty hyung!" they both shout in sync.
chan let out a low growl as he pulls felix closer. felix snickers as he hugs chan's arm, "don't be so jealous. they're just kids"
chan sighs before he informs to the toddlers, "i'm heading inside. is prince minho inside with others?"
"yes! they all are with the king"
"thanks kiddo. come on, baby" chan pulls the younger in the castle.
he pushes the door and they both need to duck their head when a picture frame flying above their head to the hallway.
"bambam! lisa! put it down!" seungmin scolds two kids on the king's desk but the best friends won't listen.
"ah! chan, my boy and his consort. come inside" the king gestures them as he is sitting on his chair, letting bambam takes his crown and put it on his head but it is too big for him so the crown covered his eyes and swims aimlessly because he can't see a thing.
jisung and hyunjin are laughing their ass off when they have witnessed the scene. felix swims and greets minho with a hug, although they just separated few minutes ago.
chan and felix bow at the king. the king waves his hand, "there's no need. you know i will not be the king soon"
"what a happy life, hm?" they both lock their gazes to the king while the king locks his to the toddlers.
"i've decided to let the youngsters learn about royalty. it is important to develop it when we are still a kid. it's my fault i didn't do it sooner and because of my selfishness, i thought minho was willing to be the next king even though he didn't get trained."
"we couldn't blame you either. minho is the true royal blood and he instantly will be declared as the king one day. it's just... the nature, you know..." felix says as he stares at the space.
minho looks at his biological father with sorrow, "father i'm so sorry"
the king only smiles, "no it's okay. i can find someone else, like them!" he quickly grab the two toddlers and hug them.
this makes the toddlers scream in shock. they both let out a fit giggle and the king is laughing. they all decide to play when the king states that he need to get rest in his room. so he stands up and swims out from the room and heading to his.
he goes inside his room and stops at a big hanging frame of his. he quickly look around to see if someone is following him before he tilts the frame to the the left. the frame makes a click sound before the wall opens by itself, it is a dark tunnel no one can even see the inside. he passes through the entrance and closes it.
as he closes it, the lights that plastered on the wall vivid in the tunnel. each side of the lights, there are bunch of photo frames. as he swims, they are the pictures of him from a baby to a teenager with family. as he started to be the king, there are less of the family pictures. the tunnel is full of his photos until he reaches the end of the tunnel.
the room is big, big enough for five people. the lights are brightening, reveals the photo frames of his wedding.
he still remember his queen wearing the white dress and a pair of white heels. she looked ethereally beautiful when they first met. she only smiled even though she knew he was not her kind.
he remembers when she was willing to be his consort. to be there for him on the throne of atlantis. to be the life support as he ruled the kingdom. to be the love of his life.
to be his queen.
he swims towards a mannequin that wears a white dress and the white heels neatly under the dress just like their first encounter, the dim black stone of necklace.
he takes off the necklace and put it on his palm, kissing it as he tries not to cry. he smiles at the stone, it looks so empty with no colour and brightness.
"if you're still here, you will be proud of our son. he is brave, jess, just like you said when you gave birth to him."
