[Trigger warning: Fire, Nightmare, Mentioning violence, Lies]
Heavy breathing interrupted the silence around the campfire. The brunette sat up trying to calm herself down while tears blurred her sight. She could tell that Follows-Chalk jumped scared a bit because of her quick movements.
"Sorry..." the woman mumbled, waiting for the tears to disappear.
"A nightmare huh?... It seems you have them quite often" he replied, not being bothered that he got scared for a second.
She sighed a bit "Yeah... No wonder every day is a ... a new challenge..." a chuckle left her soft lips. Follows-Chalk nodded in agreement without saying anything.
"Anyway... I think you should get some rest as well." a quick look at the pipboy which was covered in dust and dirt told her the time.
"Well then good night, may the stars watch over your dreams." he smiled at the woman that wasn't much older than him. The courier nodded and layed down, looking at the bright dark sky. Sparkling spots around the moon calmed her mind, then she closed her eyes and slowly fell asleep.
-
A huge fire ball was rising at the horizon. The colors of day and night mixed, clouds were in a gentle purple. The courier opened her eyes and sighed as she sat up, a yawn followed.
"Good morning" her companions voice swung with the sweet melody of positivity. A smile came across her freckled face.
"Good morning Chalk, you never sleep that long huh?" she asked with a soft chuckle. Follows-Chalk smiled a bit and handed the courier their breakfast. Today's mission was to return safely to Zion. This trip was, compared to other ones, a 'pretty safe' one, plus there was a place she could return to that was some kind of a home.
After they ate and packed their things, a long walk started. Most of the time was filled with silence, probably because no one had a topic to talk about. It reminded her of her first companion she used to travel with. He was a courier as well, pretty on the outside but ugly on the inside. He never listened to her and always tried to solve problems with violence. If it wouldn't have been 'him' who 'saved' her, the other courier would have beaten her up, that was for sure.
The brunette softly shook her head to get rid of all the thoughts.

"You wished to see me?" I asked facing my leader. I could tell that he was thinking about something. Placing a hand on his head, he started talking:
"Have you already found her? My headaches get worse each day... Time is running out."
I kept in a deep sigh before I shook my head as an reply to Caesars question. For sure he wasn't happy with that answer. Before he could let his anger out I thought of some sort of a lie.
"We may have not found her but we are close, it is only a matter of time... minutes...". Well, this answer didn't really satisfy Ceasar but calmed him a bit. Cold eyes starred at me for a second before they looked across the tent.
"That's all for now" Caesar then said. Without saying anything I left. My mind now back to the woman I once met in Nipton. I remember the look in her eyes, warm, gentle but also brave. She definitely wasn't easy to catch or to find either. Frustrating. But everyone does mistakes and so did she. I pulled out a necklace and looked at it for a second before I put it back. She gave it to me when we met for the second time, not to mention the confusion she left me in and me idiot let her escape.
"Damn-it...!" I hissed to myself
"I can't believe that I let her go... That I let her so close to my understandings..."
"I have to find her!"
