Long ago somebody took her.
They shattered and twisted her mind, changing it to it's very core.
She learned that in a world full of monsters, the only way to survive was to become one yourself.
So that's what she did.
But now she is back,
and she...

Present
Everything hurts.
My feet hurt, my legs hurt, my back hurts.
Every single muscle in my body is screaming at me to stop.
But I can't, not when I'm so close to finally finding them, after all these exhausting months.
The full moon shines brightly in the sea of darkness that we call sky. My eyes dance over the deserted street, scanning over the houses in the neighbourhood.
Castles is a better word for them I suppose.
The faint sound of voices makes me tear my eyes from the houses and settle ahead. Half a block away from where I'm walking, four tall figures emerge from one of the houses, laughter filling the breaking of the night. For some reason I slowly stop, my hand coming to rest on the small dagger hidden at my side as two of them start walking my way, the other two lingering on the house entrance.
As they come close enough for me to make out their features, instinct takes over and my eyes travel over the two guys in assessment. They are tall, both of them. Big muscles gleaming underneath their long sleeved shirts. The one on the left- blondie- is laughing, his sharp features contorted in a beautiful smile. His friend, his brown hair trimmed over in a buzzcut that makes him look strangely handsome, is looking down, shaking his head as if trying to hide a secretive smile, I'm going to call him Smiley. Blondie is the one to notice me first, he turns to look ahead and his smile morphs into a frown as he takes me in, just standing casually in the middle of the walkway.
Move you moron, my mind seems to say.
But for some reason my legs stay put.
Smiley noticed that Blondie's attention wasn't on the conversation anymore so his head turned in my direction, any trace of his smile gone. I tensed slightly as his eyes swiftly swept over me, but the look wasn't one of creepy lust or even possible approach, but it seemed as if he was merely taking in my presence. I willed my face to be a portrait of cool calm as they stopped a few feet away from me. Smiley turned to look at Blondie in question, but his friend was too busy still staring at me with what looked like confusion and surprise almost? My hand itched to grab the hidden blade in my hip, but I forced it away.
"Hey! I know you!" Blondie nearly yelled all of a sudden, earning a slap in the back of the head from Smiley.
"Shut up dumbass, you can't just randomly walk up to a girl in the middle of the night and yell that you know her. You sound like a total creep" he scolded his friend and then turned his attention to me once again. "I am so sorry"
I waved it off and chuckled nervously. "It's okay"
Nevertheless I stared at his friend wearily and in confusion. He must be mistaking me for somebody else, there is absolutely no way that he....
Pay attention to everything Kaira, actions, tones, small gestures, how they speak, even the smallest detail can speak volumes.
"Oh crap that's right, oh my god I am so sorry" Blondie apologised. "But I swear to god I know you from somewhere"
"Umm I think you're mistaking me for somebody else?" I spoke, but it came out more as a question rather than a statement. "Nonono, I swear to god I know you fr-..." I tried not to panic as I watched his face fill with recognition. "Holy shit"
"Bro what the-.."
"What's your name?" Blondie interrupted his friend.
"Uhh...?"
"No yes, I know I sound like a total creep right now and I must be scaring the shit out of you but just please, what's your name?"
I thought about it for a second. "Kaira" I replied unsurely, despite the warnings ringing in my head, and his face paled even more if it was even possible. I didn't even have time to react when someone spoke. What the fuck is going on?
"Hey guys, what's wrong? Why did you stop? Can you start moving, I'm star-......"
The other two skyscrapers had reached us and the fourth guy's voice died down as his eyes reached my own. All the color drained from my face and my heart nearly jumped out of my chest. It can't be possible, It must be my imagination, is it really him? His curly brown hair was a little bit shiny because of the street lights reflecting on it. He was well built and had the same sharp features as his friends, but what caught my attention the most were his eyes. The same silver blueish eyes that mirrored my own, the same eyes I stared at for months in the pictures, wishing, hoping, begging to whoever was up there that I could see them in person at least one time. They were here, he was here, right before me. I spent weeks, months searching for him and there he was right before my eyes.
He peered at me in confusion, his eyes darting around my face, searching for anything that could reveal the answer as to why my face looked so petrified. I didn't care if he could see the shock in my eyes, not right now, I didn't care about anything but the fact that he was standing right there, in front of me.
He's here, He's here, They're here.
Everyone around us kept watching back and forth between him and I, Blondie was still too startled to even speak. Seconds passed and I still couldn't move, until something seemed to click inside of him and shock fell upon his features. A wave of nostalgia mixed with something akin to sadness washed over his now wide eyes.
"K-...Kaira?" His voice was quiet, but due to the lack of sounds around us, I still caught it and for the first time in a long time, the smile that threatened to break out of my face was genuine.
