"Hey you softhead, it's me. Open the door or else I'll break into your house."

Okay that was scary. However a part of me was telling me that I knew this person. I couldn't really recall who he was. I gathered up a whole mount of courage and finally opened the door only to see a guy wearing an all-black outfit along with a black mask thus revealing only his eyes. I stood there examining him from head to toe with the help of my phone's flashlight.

Naturally, he got irritated and scolded," what the heck are you doing? I'm not a thief. Let me in and then I'll tell you everything."

"Do I look like a fool? What makes you think I'll believe your words? Where's the guarantee of you not barging into my house and robbing me and doing bad things to me?" I said with my voice trembling with fear.

The sudden change in his expression seemed to scare me . His eyebrows got raised and within no time he caged me with his arms on my either sides and his dark brown orbs shot glares through my soul.

He said lowering his voice," What do you mean by 'bad things' huh?"

It felt like I would have died there by freezing. He continued," So you really wanna know who I am right?" I nodded a yes . He grabbed my hand and took me to the living room. He held a candle near his face and removed his mask.

And the next few minutes I stood there with my jaws dropped. It was none other than ---

I was totally shook to see him after all these years. We've been the best of friends since childhood. He knew every little secret of mine and the same went the other way round too. I was so happy that I almost passed out. I went and jumped into his arms. I felt like crying my heart out after seeing my best friend after an eternity.

We stood there hugging each other for a whole minute . I told him to sit on the couch for sometime while I went out to check the weather outside. It almost stopped pouring. Gradually, the electricity also came back and I switched on the geaser for Hyunjin to take a warm shower. I got all the rooms cleaned by the time he got fresh. I got our dinner ready and both of us gobbled it up since both of us were as hungry as bears.

After dinner, we decided to have a nice gossip sitting on the couch. I started the conversation with the most obvious question," How did you find my address?"

He cleared his throat and said,"Um, well, I returned from the States a few hours ago and I was driving my car towards a hotel so that I can atleast stay there for a night and then set off in search of an apartment the next day. Unfortunately, my car ran out of fuel so I had to park it somewhere nearby. I got down my car and I saw the nameplate at the front gate with your name on it. Luck favoured me and now I'm here. What about you Y/N? How's life? What have you been doing?"

I told him about my job. I told him how messed up I was. I shared everything with him. Trust me, my heart felt so light after such a long time. Is that the effect of a best friend's presence? I told him about the finest details of my past and the present. He listened to me attentively. We had an hour of heartfelt conversation and it ended with us bidding goodnights to each other and we slept in our respective rooms.
