Summary:

The first step might start with a morning run. It could turn into a giant leap when Tobio has to get his things back from Osaka.

Warmth.

Too much of it. He was sweating; in between the stage of sleep and consciousness. It was definitely the heat radiating from the body wrapped around him. Maybe it was the heat that was bringing him to awareness or it was the voice calling out to him. He groaned and tried to turn and find a cold spot, but the weight beside him just snuggled in more.

Cold.

A splash of coldness slapped on his face and he bolted upright in bed. There was a moment of confusion as Hoshiumi startled beside him and covered himself completely in the blanket that he snatched from him. The evil laugh he heard from the other side could only belong to one man. He turned his head slowly in the direction of the voice, and found Suna already up and ready in running clothes. Wait, was he wearing his clothes?

"Wakey wakey, sunshine!" Suna practically sang.

Tobio looked at the alarm clock beside the bed which read 5:30 a.m. He had finally been blessed with a dreamless night and this sadistic person had to wake him up. Why was his life like this?

"No." He tried to lay his head back down on the wet pillow, but Suna grabbed his hand to keep him upright.

"Come on. We are going for a run." He said with a smile.

"Wait, did you actually throw water on me?" Tobio demanded angrily. Surely even Rin-san wasn't that crazy?

"Wouldja calm down? It was jus' a glass full. It will dry up in no time." The man explained, completely unfazed.

"Why are you up so early, Rin-san?" He sighed. There was no point in going back to sleep.

"Have ya like gone blind, Tobio?" Suna rolled his eyes. "We are going for a run." He added as if it was obvious.

"There's no we!" Tobio replied. He was feeling exhausted despite getting some much needed rest.

"Oh yea, there is. Now get up before I bring out a bucket." Suna warned him and started tapping his left foot on the floor impatiently. There was no reasoning with him when he got like that.

"Fine." Tobio got up with a great difficulty, not without glaring at the middle blocker.

"Should I wake up Kourai too?" Suna asked him as he was leaving the room.

"Not if you want to stay alive." He yawned and went to the bathroom.

He knew he had to get back on track, but his body was feeling the disturbance of the last few days, not to mention his insomnia and lack of a proper diet was making him feel really tired. He had never ignored self maintenance before, and he felt a little guilty. It was like he was disappointing his Grandpa. Tobio shook his head to let go of any negativity and focused on getting ready. He also suppressed any thoughts of his partner who was in Osaka right now.

Step one - get ready.

Step two - go for a run.

He could do that, taking one task at time.

Suna looked way too pleased, grinning at Tobio as he was tying his shoelaces.

"Just so you know, I hate you." Tobio grumbled as left the apartment.

"Yea yea, I love ya too." Suna replied playfully as he closed the door behind him after getting out.
