Karaoke Nights [ON HOLD]

Chapter 1

The Supernatural Academy, California

Scarlett's POV
I wake up to the sunlight glazing over my face through the gap in the curtains. Yawning, I roll over to face the other side of the room, my best friend is sprawled out in her bed, her wavy blonde hair covering the pillows and her head facing towards me. She looks so peaceful when she sleeps; quite the opposite to when she's awake yet pretty all the same. Well pretty would be an understatement, the light freckles which dust her rosy cheeks and button nose is enough to bring butterflies to my stomach, but I'd never dare mention it.

A light knock on the door is enough to snap me out of my daze, just in time for her to wake up and not notice me staring. She looks over to me, making no effort to get the door so I groan and get up. I rake my fingers through my long, wavy brown hair and drag myself over to the door, opening it to see our other best friend of 7 years, Angelica

Her clothes and hair are to perfection as always, however her signature smile has been replaced by a look of  annoyance as she eyes my appearance.

"Have you seriously forgotten again?" She asks in disbelief as she pushes past into our dorm.

"Well do come in Angie." I mumble sarcastically, still in my half asleep state.

"Pearl, Pearl get up!" She shakes the now sleeping mermaid awake who just groans and pulls the covers over her head, let's just say we aren't morning people.

"Guys, today's the day!" Angie exclaims as she looks between the two of us as we just share confused glances.

"What are you going on about?" I ask and she rolls her eyes.

"The new student is joining today."

"And that's our problem because...?" Pearl trails off, her Australian accent showing, as she sits up in bed.

"Because we're the welcoming committee!"

"Shit, I forgot about that." I say as I rummage through my wardrobe for a cute outfit, smiling as I pull out one that I like.

"I know, you do every time! Pearl get up and get dressed, come on guys they should be arriving in 20 minutes and your both half asleep." Angie rants as we both get ready.

"Not all of us are organised you know." Pearl states making me smirk and nod in agreement as I enter the bathroom to take a quick shower, leaving the two to bicker.

After I shower and brush my teeth, I change into a black cropped top, plaid red skirt and throw on my black Dr Martens before heading back into the room to see a now dressed Pearl. We have a routine; she like to take night showers while I like morning ones so it works perfectly. She wears a black spaghetti-strap cropped top, black ripped jeans and a blue cropped denim jacket. She's curvy in all the right places, her blond waves cascade over her shoulders and the mascara makes her blue eyes pop; she beautiful, but I can't have her.
