Cookout

Mandy was very excited that day. She got dressed in a striped tank top, jean shorts, and tennis. Brian had giving his address to Rosalie and they scheduled a meet up time. The buzzer sounded. "Billie." Billie says. "She's here." Brian says. "Come on up." Brian says into the speaker. 

After a few moments the door opens, Billie rushes in and hugs her newfound friend. "I love you Billie." Rosalie says causing Billie to break away from Mandy and give her aunt a hug. "Love you too Aunt Rosie." Billie says. After a while. Mandy, Billie, and Brian were in Brian's truck on their way to the cookout. "You sure they're gonna like me?" Billie questions as she fiddles with her fingers. "They're gonna love you! They love kids." Mandy says a smile on her face.

Once they made it. Mandy hopped out along with Billie. She could smell the amazing Toretto cooking already. Billie and Mandy walked up the driveway, smile on their faces. "Now look who it is." Dom says, but he stops as he sees another little girl next to her. "Hello." Billie says, a smile on her face. "This is my new friend Billie!" Mandy says. "Hello Billie." Dom says crouching down and shaking her hand. 

"Come on! Let's go meet the others." Mandy says rushing off. Brian walks over to Dom. "Where did you meet her?" Dom questions. "When we went to get slushies." Brian says causing Dom to laugh. "You know, she met us when she wandered into our shop." Dom says causing Brian to laugh. "Sounds like Mandy." Brian says as he turns and sees Billie, Mandy, and Mia chatting away. "You know, she adores you. Even before you and I met, she went on and on about her amazing older brother." Dom says turning to Brian who was looking at the girls who were playing tag in the yard.

"Tag!" Mandy shouts as the girls giggle and chase each other around the yard. Billie chases Mandy around the yard, but she was tackled by Billie. "Touchdown!" Billie exclaims as she and Mandy giggle. Mandy and Billie stand up with laughs echoing in the air. After a while, a few engines were heard. "They're here!" Mandy squeals. 

Eventually, Letty and Leon walked into the backyard. "Letty! Leon!" Mandy exclaims as she rushes over. Letty places the grocery bags next to the barbeque and she catches Mandy who jumps at her. "Hey chica." Letty says as Mandy laughs. Billie rushes over, a grin on her face. "Oh! Letty this is Billie, she's my new best friend!" Mandy says as Letty sets her down. "Hi!" Billie says, a toothy grin on her face. "Hi." Letty says, a smile on her face.

"Tag." Billie says causing Mandy to giggle and chase after Billie. Letty smiles as she watches the two girls. "They're friendship is going to be strong in the future." Mia says as she moves towards Letty. "I know." Letty says as they smile at each other. "Girls!" Brian exclaims causing Mandy and Billie to walks towards the table. They sit down next to each other and giggle. 

"Here you go." Mia says as she puts the bowl down. Billie reaches over but Mandy holds her hand back. "What?" Billie questions innocently. "It's a tradition." Mandy says just as Jesse grabs one of the chicken pieces. "Hey, hold up. Because you were the first to reach in to get the chicken, you say grace." Dom says. "Oh come on, let the newbie do it." Jesse says. "Nu-uh, it's tradition Jess." Mandy says a smirk on her face. "Dear heavenly..." Jesse pauses. "Spirit." Leon says helping him out. "Spirit. Thank you." Jesse says looking around at everyone who was looking at him.

"Thank you for providing us with a direct port nitrous injection...four core intercoolers and ball-bearing turbos...and titanium valve springs. Thank you." Jesse prays. "Amen." Everyone says as they start to eat the food. "Not bad." Dom says. "He was praying to the car gods, man." Letty says causing Mandy and Billie to giggle. "He's not the best." Mandy says as Billie makes a so-so motion with her hand causing the whole table to chuckle. 

Mandy and Billie talk while they eat. "Do you think if we gave your aunt the puppy dog eyes she'd let you sleep over?" Mandy questions causing Billie to nod. "It works for anything, but let's leave that as a last resort." Billie says causing Mandy to nod. "True." Mandy says as she continues eating. 

Now it was time to go home, unfortunately the girls couldn't have a sleepover, but thankfully for Brian and Rosalie they didn't throw a fit or anything like that. Now the O'Connor's were back in their apartment, or well Brian carrying Mandy who was in a food coma. "Brian?" She questions causing Brian to smile down at his sister. "Yeah?" He questions causing Mandy to smile. "Can I stay in your room today?" She questions causing Brian to chuckle. "Fine." He says causing her to grin and allow Brian to carry her to his room.

She grabs one of his t-shirts and she goes and gets changed into pj shorts. She goes back to his room, teeth brushed and everything done. "Brian." She says as she sees her brother 'asleep' on the bed. "Bri-" She stops as Brian suddenly jumps up and tackles her causing her to squeal and giggle as Brian starts tickling her sides. 

"Brian!" She exclaims as she tries prying his hands off her sides. She eventually succeeded, but the actions making Mandy tired. "Go to sleep Mandy." Brian says just as Mandy's eyes shut and she drifts off. Brian stared down at his sister, he was afraid that one day she'd grow up and realize that she didn't need him anymore, but what he didn't realize was that the day would be sooner than expected.

Now it was the next day, Mandy and Billie were playing hop-scotch in the sidewalk in front of Brian and Mandy's apartment building. "Mandy?" Billie questions causing Mandy to look up from her chalk drawing. "Yeah?" She questions. "Who's that?" She questions as a bunch of men on bikes start driving towards them slowly. 'Don't trust the men on bikes, they will hurt you if they know you know me.' The voice of Dom says into her head. "Run." Mandy says. "What?" Billie questions as Mandy sees a few of the men take guns out. "Run!" Mandy shouts as they start running down the sidewalk, making sharp turns as they head gunshots. 

Mandy and Billie raced down the streets, running as fast as their 7 year old legs could take them. See something that both had in common were street smarts. They both knew that when someone was firing at you that you better be dam fast and you never turn back. Now Brian who only went inside for a minute to grab the girls water immediately heard the shots being fired. He ran out of the building and heard the sound of motorcycle engines. 

"Shit." Brian says as he runs down the streets, following the faint sounds of the engines and gunshots. "Come on." Billie says as they race into a phone booth. "Who're you calling?" Mandy questions. "My uncle, he'll take care of us." Billie says as she answers the phone. "Hey, I need some help. Yeah I was will Aunt Rose, no I didn't do anything! Fine, you already know where we are so you don't need me to give you directions. Okay, I'll see you soon Uncle Deck." Billie says as she hangs up.
